why can't they just wait? tweak the PCBs, refine the coolers, see what they can and can't optimize, before they rush in and topple over on themselves.

Because the PC community is largely consisted of idiots who say things like "NVIDIA are **** because they are later than ATI bringing out DX11 cards". So they want to get a few cards out in limited number just to shut people up and help maintain their reputation.

I wish they'd hurry up, I'm building a new computer soonish and I really don't want to have to buy an ATi. Oh god.

I built mine with an ATi 5 series card awhile ago. I'm glad I did not wait, seeing how many months it has been. Replacing my card with a new Fermi is certainly not part of my plan nor budget. Fermi needs to be really good to help nvidia recovering from all the lost deals to ATi, on the field of DX11 at least.

Nvidia really has some ground to make up. It'll be almost a full year of no competition for the HD5000 series.

they are losing tons of money because they havent released their cards yet. with ati having the ony dx11 cards now, lots of people are going ati. they have to release them soon to at least get something because if they release it later, the 6000 series will probably be out for ati and maybe (big maybe) surpass fermi and it will probably be hell of a lot cheaper because nvidia has to price their high end products high to make up for lost ground.

Well, at least only a couple DX11 games have been released, and there hasn't been much info on any upcoming games admittedly supporting DX11.

Well it's true that this Fermi project of theirs is still burning their money and not yet making any, nothing is stopping nvidia earning from their other cards. nvidia is not in any real need of hurry.. except for the sake of its reputation, shareholders, sponsors, etc.

to be honest, Nvidia should take their time and do something superb. i mean games with DX11 are rare and games are not that demanding these days. Wait alittle, do some extra tweaking, add some more features, and Nvidia will have the upper hand eventually. Im beginning to think that ATI rushed their 5xxx series, nothing special at all except for DX11.

Fermi get it out for the sake of gamers - undisputed the biggest subjekt for most people intrested in PC hardware of 09/Q3-Q4 and now 10/Q1-Q2!

Perhaps this is the way Nvidia want it to be getting our hopes up, Charlie rant this - or Charie rant that, well they are alot but stupid and incompetent isn't what they can be guilty of being. (well the faked fermi card is stupid, we of all people does know how a graphiccard would look like!)

Nvidia are anounsing something tomorow, im not in a position or have the scourses to speculate the details of it, but perhaps they have one more ace up their sleave.

Nvidia have had enourmus problems with their yelds heck it's one enourmus GPU but im confident this will improve since the lads up on tmsc know their sillicon and Fermi will show up soon, but the tone of Nvidia has always been the same thruout all their campain to market their gpus, We are the Nvidia all your resisstance of our migthy saviour is futile, well this isn't the case rigth now, there are diffrent possibillitys to why this have changed: Either the Fermi isn't what they've hoped for or they want to shift the direction to another heading, as for GPGPU this can affect out daily work with a GPU capable of alot more than displaying a picture or folding proteins.

With the current alivalable games out at this time Nvidia would be stupid not to take advantage of this, even the really old 8800GTX witch can max almoust ewry game today it's a perfect time to do a bigger diffrence in the GPU direction. Larrabe isn't that far ahead is it? Larrabe could very well be a new dimention for the possebilleties of a GPU, im not that suprised that a GPU can do alot more than putting out a ridiculess high framerate but im surpriced that they want to be that far ahead from the game delevopers, with all the possiblillety of doing more things on the GPU this would be the perfect time to do so.

If Fermi soon arrive im not surpriced if it can do alot more than folding and pulling high framerate, this would give Nvidia a great position while AMD just folds and putting out pictures another 5-9months to respond.

Nvidia isn't near bankrupt but they are bleeding, but they have the resources and the people to do something about it.

Sooo, can you guess what they are revealing tomorrow?

Alot of people are angry at Nvidia not because they want to release a polished product but becuase they're trying to milk as much money as they can out of last generation cards. I mean come one how many lower end cards have they released within the past 8 months? Now how many next generation cards? Nvidia want to make the most money they can and they know no matter what people will buy their cards when they release it because they are Nvidia.

They didn't want to release their cards as early as ATI because they want to save money and make more money by releasing their new cards during a time where the economy was much better. In my opinion they should have released their cards last month but oh well.

Your logic fail hard. How does Nvidia or AMD make money on their cards. They sell 'em! Selling no cards while having emplyoes save no money. ;)
