Lord of the Rings Online or Tabula Rasa?

Hey there

Well today I plan on buying a new MMO but I will probably only be playing it for a few months until Warhammer Online/Age of Conan arrive. I was looking at Lord of the Rings Online or Tabula Rasa but I can't decide between them. I know they are two completely different games in terms of gameplay but I am looking for something thats not long term but if I do reach end game there is something to do and a fun PvP system and character progression at level cap so that you can get better gear and weapons.

not sure i tried lotr ...i think it is not bad..if i recall you can try lotr free to a certain level.but kinda boring not as half good as wow.

for tabula rasa i havent try yet so i cant give my opinion on it.

Cant really make an educated response TBH, just check out both reviews and see which one is right for you.

I have heard that Tabula is really making losses though.

Go for LOTRO if you are looking to play only for a few months.

Reason being you will be able to try out most things.

Tabula Rasa seems to be good, but not a big player base.

I'd be interested in some ones opinion who is into Tabula Rasa. Haven't played it my self.

LOTR was fun for a few months. Little too PG rated for my liking. =-)

Do you have experience with a fantasy-based MMO and want something different(i.e. have you played WoW or anything else)? Then do tabula rasa.

DO you want a quality fantasy MMO that is not WoW? Then try LOTRO

Both games are solid, but I prefer LOTRO simply because it is quality and has a good community. TabRasa is a good game, but its boring and gets old fast.

If you like WOW, LOTRO is very similar. There are plenty of "fetch me two eggs and I'll give you a muffin that you can carry to that other guy, who'll give you a pair of shoes" quests. But there are some really epic moments too. And the pvp is fun.

Dunno about Tabula Rasa. I had some friends who tried it but didn't play very long, I don't know why.
