And all of the other threads are locked. Just to make this clear i OWN my game and want a LEGAL way of playing it! Thanks for all of your help :D

Even after doing what smileyscones said I still need my DVD. But maybe if you use the downloaded version from EADM it would work.

Yes, after you get it to show up on your EADM account, you could fully uninstall the old game and redownload and reinstall the download version. Another option which worked for me was to buy one of the expansions digitally on EA's site (they have sales all the time) and ever since then I havent needed the old DVD.

Pretty much this ^^^ If you get an expansion pack then you can use the expansion launcher to load up the game (it will automatically find and use your base game data) [it works the other way too, you can use the base game launcher after installing the expansions to launch the game w/ expansion enabled). EADM is the best solution unless you want to pony up some money to EA for a replacement DVD (if they even do that any more).

Easy way would be to just buy one of the expansion packs since when you add it then you use the expansion pack cd to run Sims 3. However that is provided you don't uninstall The Sims 3 at all later.

I agree. this actually happened to me. I lost the sims 3 game and I panicked. But it was close to my birthday so when I go the late night expanison I downloaded it and just used that game for all the expansions. I did actually end up finding the game. My brother had it. But I don't need the original game anymore seeing that I have the expansion pack with everything installed onto it :)
