Well, with the next rig I have 24fps average, with the lowest rate to 15fps and the highest rate 35/40 fps:
Pentium D Dual Core 3.0Ghz
2 x 1Gb RAM 667Mhz
XFX nVidia GeForce 7600GT XXX Edition
Â
Edit:Â
Oooops forgot to tell. My apologies. The game settings were all almost maxed out without AA, because I'm using the motion blur at Medium and it performs very well. I'm using 1024x768 as resolution. What a game... I can't even wait to see it finished :3
striaght peice crap!!!! just like cellfraction!!! crap!!!!!!!! booooooo
this is how it starts my fellow pc gamers, they make u upgrade even if u dont like it... booooo
On top of that if you have a ATI card your pretty much screwed on that demo. ATI said they don't have the proper drivers out yet to run it smoothly.Patriot298i just fired it up at 1280x720 (even though my monitor's not widescreen -_-) and tried the perftest, it was ~45fps avg snow, ~37fps avg cave. x1950xt and cat 7.4's.
doesn't even work for those with x or 9 or fx series cards, needs pixel shader 3+nutcrackr
Â
what it need dx10 MINIMUM? Wow like 10% or less people have dx10 cards and vista. They are going to have no market whatsoever

shader 3 isnt dx10, its dx9.0c... so they are fineÂ

I took 9 series to mean dx 9 noit the raedon 9XXX my bad.Â
The game crashed on me several times and ran like crap. Funny though, as the system performance test on the demo ran PERFECTLY FINE. However, in the actual game demo, when it would work it was running worse than the 360 version and I have a freaking 8800 GTS, which is TWICE as powerful as the Xenos GPU in the 360. This game probably has optimization issues. Also I think I enabled what I believe to be is a "multi-CPU" option, which I hope was running. Either way, Capcom has their work cut out for making Lost Planet playable without large scale massacring of PC gamers systems. Besides, I have the 360 version already :Pmobius1aic
Â
The option is not multi CPU, It's multi GPUÂ
this demos screwed ive downloaded and installed like 4 times all with varying degrees of crappiness like not even running..then finally after updating the dx9 stuff the game opens and everything is pink and green with no sound...this **** assume the game will be the same...and no widescreen ...wtfrunico
wow you must have very old video card
looks nice on my pc (dx 10 version)
pretty average game tbh run around shoot end of level,
oh and the AI in that game is broke some of the bigger bugs get stuck easy
[QUOTE="sm0ke311"]i deleted lost planet demo and never will install it again i saw images one guy was gettin 15 fps with full setting and 8800gtx seriously wtf?Glordit
I blame Capcom :P badly optimised...
Â
konami did really good job with silent hill and metal gear sold 2 but capcom always port crap pc games
residentevil 4 runs really good but graphics are really bad and doesent have real mouse support. i blame capcom 2:)
and it seems we shouldnt get our hopes up to high that games like crysis and bioshock will actually run at all on dx9 gear as promised....get ready to spend alot of money to really appreciate the next gen...which is still a year away....or buy a 360 or ps3 because currently it seems they have given up on the pc gamer with less than the "ultimate rig" which only a few can affordrunico

Stop talking out of your arse, b/c you obviously don't know what you're talking about.
The only game that you will NEED dx10 for is halo2 and that's only b/c M$ is....well, they're M$. Crysis and most other games that are supporting dx10 will also run on cards designed for dx9. As long as you have a nVidia 7-series, maybe even some of the better 6-series, you'll be able to play all the new releases at decent frame-rates, you just won't be able to enable all the bells and whistles. And how much does a top-o-the-line 7-series card cost nowadays? What, like $250 MAX?
So cut out the console fanboism, some people prefer PC gaming, and contrary to semi-popular belief, you do NOT need to shell out a couple grand every year for a new rig. A good, solid gaming rig, NOT bleeding-edge mind you, will last at LEAST 2-3 years MINIMUM.
Capcom just lost alot of sales witrh that retarded demo. I can run Oblivion at medium on my 6600gt but can barely run this at the lowest res and my monitor resolution isn't even supported.
Now I see people with Monster machines having trouble with this.
Anyway getting a monster machine myself soon and not bothering with this game.

I have a pretty modest system methinks and I have maxed most settings out and I think the graphics are pretty spectacular. The aliens AI is a little non-existent but the game plays fine and again it looks great graphicly with the dx9 demo. Controlling your mech and gattlin gunning away is fun. All in all it's just another shooter which is OK by me.
I am always above 20 fps in caves so I have not seen any real lag yet.
