I've read several of the post on here about loud fan noise. Most of the advise is to clean or replace the fan. However, all my stuff is brand new, maybe 2 weeks old. When I'm on internet of anything else the fans are fine, but when I play games (Sims 3,World of Warcraft, Crysis)...one of the fans make a very loud noise. What should I do. I know there are programs out there to download...should I try that...and if so which one and what's the best process. How slow is too slow and any help on what to do would be appreciated. Thanks

It's most likely the GPU fan, as it tends to rev up when under load and is typically noisy due to it being a centripetal fan. The only way to fix this is replacing the heatsink assembly.

Still, there's a chance that one of the other fans is to blame. It would be a lot easier to give advice if we knew what specific fan is causing the noise. Otherwise, all the advice we give is based off of assumptions and guesses.

Ok...would it be a good idea to troubleshoot this way...unplug each case fan one by one. If thats not it...the try the GPU and then the CPU?

While your computer is on, put your finger on the middle of the fan to stop it and see if the noise stops. (let go after a few seconds, or you will risk overheating the hardware)

No no dont do that lol, if its happening during games its 1 of 2 things. The gpu (most likly) or the cpu. What gpu are you using?

Also its always a good idea to get a third party cooler if sound annoys you allot or if your serious about your temps

I think you said everything was new but you could still check the PSU. The bearings in one of ours was bad and it would make an almost rattling noise. However, when you hit the back of it, it seemed to stop for a while. :)
