loud x4 955 normal?

i just got an x4 955 BE , am running it at stock speeds but its really loud , is this normal ?

its really annoying compared to my previous x2 6000+ !

Have you tried running a temperature monitor? The fan may be revving up due to a bad CPU/heatsink thermal contact.

This... my friend's X4 955 runs extremely quiet, even during full load.

Are you referring to the readings in the BIOS? Those wont display load temps :?

I don't recommend using speedfan for your temps... I started using speedfan, but CPUID HW monitor is MUCH better.
