Loving The Old Republic's F2P weekend.

I was very skeptical about this game considering a lot of big named new MMO's become nothing within a few months. Iv'e played close to 8 hours of this game so far and ill have to say ive never felt so immersed in the universe from the start of a MMO. Yeah the quest are kill this, kill that, but after a quest i feel like i actually accomplished something rather than "Oh, heres those cat paws you wanted for no reason at all." It all has to do with the building of the story. I havent done any pvp yet, so i don't know what to say for that. For anyone else skeptical about TOR give it a shot for this F2P weekend. One thing though, the voice acting isn't very good lol. But the sound effects in combat are very nice. How's anyone else feeling about the games progress?

It's only for the weekend. They have 1.7 Million subs so I don't think anything has begun

Played some last night.

My framerate is jerky.

Turned everything to low, it's still jerky.

Everything on high is like 40fps

Everything on low is 60 but jerky

Found the looting to be annoying, and haven't found a character I enjoyed but overall it seems fun.

I give it 7/10 so far, 8/10 if I can get my framerates sorted.

Will try to work on it over the weekend.

I did not because my computer is getting outdated. It is about 4 years old now, so I know SWTOR will not run well on it. Skyrim has low requirements but it runs choppy on my computer and SWTOR is much more demanding.

That was two months ago. I seriously doubt they have over a millon players now. I'm sure they are not hurting of course but the game took a clear hit.

All the KotOR fans asked for a quality AAA single player game.

I loved the free weekend! I was able to get to level 15 (max for the trial) for the republic trooper, and while it started off slow I thoroughly enjoyed the post-firstworld experience. KOTOR is one of my fav games and while I am not a big fan of MMOs I think this is one I will very likely get into, because I am a fan of the Star Wars theme.

GTX 260 + Phenom II x4 940, all low setting and getting about 20-40 FPS in the main cities (imperial fleet) and 5 FPS in Ilum which is the world PvP zone (lol). I've tried to game for 3 months now just don't want anymore to do with it. Poor performance is only part of the problem.

For the people who are having poor performance I have a mid-range pc at best and the game runs smooth as silk for me at top settings. I suspect that those having issues have lag problems, SWTOR is far from a demanding game in terms of hardware.

I think the first 10 levels are meant to be a kind of tutorial, the game didn't open up for me until I topped level 10. I've been really enjoying it since the start. As with all games haters gonna hate.
