I was wondering if anyone has been having this problem or figured out how to fix it. Basically when my system first starts up I can play Call of Duty 4 fine around 90fps. If I then decide to play another game (i.e. WoW or UT3) it runs fine. When I then decide to go back to call of duty multiplayer it becomes extremely choppy and i have to reboot and it works fine. Any ideas what this might be? Any help is appreciated.

It's possible that the game either didn't finish unloading before loading COD4 again, and it never caught up with itself. That would make it use more resources and run slower. Or it may even be a memory leak from the other game. Not likely, but still possible.

"yer frag that wasnt the problem though.. it was fps lagg not connection lagg and it was lagging on main menu etc. i found on other forums the reason for the problem to so its fixed now. For some weird reason it was do to the "dual video cards being set to No" and i only have 1 8800gts. but soon as i set it to dual video cards yes it works perfectly highest graphics and all. lot of people been having this problem. only with the cod4 multiplayer"

try this. it seemed to work for me too, ima test a bit more and post back with the results.

I have had the same problem, but running single ATI x850, I have also discovered that after my son plays HALO it happens sometimes, and that is the only game that it does it to. I also know that HALO run's using the DXT texture format, and that is the only game that I have that uses that format, I think that there may be a link there someplace, Anybody else have a clue ?

Easy guys...every time you play a game, it uses up RAM Memory...and basically you don't get it all back even if you exit. So the more games you play (without restarting), the less memory you will have to play them
