That setup can't handle source well at all, I don't think you read his specs correctly.  You also won't be able to play ps2 games on that setup without them lagging out terribly. I also have never found a good working ps2 emulator.

Actually, the Geforce 5500 would have been a lot faster than a 9250. He probably could play the original HL2 just fine, but probably not newer source games like TF2 though. I know its not worth the money to upgrade such an old system, but your graphics card is a big bottleneck. If you could find a better video card for it, you would help it out great deal.

As for game recommendations, some of my favorites that haven't been mentioned from that era of PC hardware would be sim city 4, Civilization 4, Rome: Total War, Jedi Knight 2/Jedi Academy, Call of Duty 1, and the early Splinter Cell games.

As many users have stated. There are a lot of old retro games out their. Plus, new ones that are created with low spec pc's in mind. I found this one when looking for old arcade retro game videos on you-tube. The channel has one video on it so far. But it gives a good idea and is released for free. I've found the game to be a little different. It has a retro theme but includes a lot of different styles of game play in. The great thing about the channel it has everything right there. Download links and all. Even the documentation. You might want to check it out. The specs are really low, even by today's standards. youtube channel link: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVd-fArBLE5Gk4f88m0hWrg
