You didn't mention Steam in the original post. Steam's popular and sometimes it's easy to forget that there are other digital distribution platforms plus any number of online retailers that run similar sales for physical media.
I have no idea what you already own but the Bioshock franchise is always good. Plague Inc is also a surprisingly fun concept game. Life is Strange and Tales from the Borderlands are both on sale. Mordor is 12.49 right now which is dirt cheap.
-Byshop

Homeworld Collection -50%

These would be some of my suggestions.
I got.
Endless legend collection.
Dead island Franchise pack.
Child of light.
Star Trek Starfleet academy.
I bought about 10 games this year a loan god dam steam sales. Might as well buy them while there cheap. Even got MGS 5 at £22 on last sale. Bought sniper elite 3 for something like £7.
This is why I never complete games. I am also playing Elite horizons and playing dying light and skyrim at the same time.
Just in time for dying light also as just been enhanced.
I only got SOMA during this sale. I'm very happy with my purchase. It's been a while since I was so hooked on a game, that I basically dropped everything so I could continue playing it.
I should check out Geometry Wars... but I dunno, not sold yet.
Geometry wars 3... Well the two others was fun, I reckon this is as well.
Is Shadow of Mordor heavy requirement wise? I see it lists a 3770K as recommended... I only got 3570K... Will it make much difference?
Shouldn't make much of a difference. Game is heavy on GPU anyway.
So as long as you got the RAM and GPU on recommended or above, I don't think your CPU will bottleneck.
I picked up Duke 3D for $1.50. Pretty nifty. Was my first PC shooter back in the day. I wish people still played the multiplayer. The game is a true blast (and an undeniable classic).

Plenty of more ram and a stronger gpu yes.

Just checked a benchmark. Lower end CPUs perform the same as higher end CPUs.
Go for it ;)
Depends on the game. Many games these days see good benefit from a stronger CPU.

Oh I will... But not now. I got other games to finish first. Like Mass Effect and NFS Most Wanted.

And Shadow of Mordor? It is quite possible that I delay playing it until I got a stronger CPU though. If there is a successor to the X99 platform this year I might upgrade to that this year.

I gained about 12% FPS upgrading from a Xeon X650 at 4.6 GHz going to my Intel 5820K at 4.45 GHz. Nothing crazy for the money spent but since I run a 980 Ti there aren't many options to up my FPS without spending a lot of money.

I'm so upgrading to the next HEDT line from Intel... Hopefully the 5930 or possible the 5820 equivalent Skylake-e processor is 8-core.

Funny joke.
Dude, I am playing the crap out of Reassembly. Awesome little top-down space shooter where you build your own ship/s
Alien: Isolation is only 15 bucks, including season pass. Pretty solid, scary game...and it's the Alien license, which is awesome.
Skyrim is 5 dollars. That is hundreds of hours of entertainment right there for less than the cost of a sandwich
If you like building stuff, Cities Skylines and/or Prison Architect are amazing choices, and hugely discounted. Likewise, Kerbel Space Program is insanely fun for builders, but not discounted quite as much.
Some amazing Star Wars games are on sale; you can get KOTOR 1/2 for 3 dollars each. Both of those games are must-owns if you even enjoy Star Wars a tiny bit. Republic Commando is also discounted heavily.
