This might sound OFF-Topic but it really isn't.

Is there any FREE Software out there that converts M4P to MP3?

I have iTunes songs that my friend wants to use for his audio presentation but they are DRM to me.

Thanks

' I don't think there is. I searched on Google and it seems like you have to buy most the converters, you can look for yourself. I did happen to come across this though. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080123134245AAEnWel I'm not too sure if you're willing to do that or if this is what you're looking for. I'm not too involved in Itunes nor do I own a Ipod or anything I need to use Itunes with, but I figure I'd look in to it since I do some converting myself. I do Youtube to Mp3 for most my songs and some video conversion from a program called DvDVideoSoft but they don't have what you're looking for sadly. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Thanks for the help domxnik. I thought it would be easier but looks like they are all paid programs. Might just have to RIP them to CD and back, but I didn't want to do that cause I loose quality.

That looks like a sound recording program...

I ended up using Switch Sound File Converter, as a trial, but was then later informed that Audacity is free and can do the same thing.

Just tried SSound File Converter. Doesn't do M4P? :(

Perhaps you could do it the long way. Convert to a lossless format like FLAC, and then go to MP3? Or you could just burn the mp4s as an audio cd and then rip it to mp3. You are converting one compressed format to another, so you are going to lose quality anyways. Different compressions work in different ways, so going from mp4 to mp3 will still fiddle with the file.

Yeah, looks like AudioCD and then back to MP3 is the way it's gonna go. I've been trying different programs but most of them just open iTunes up and record the sound from it.... which is kinda stupid imo.
