This trimester I decided to take a few Digital Media papers at University, There for I need to replace my 5 Year old PC so I may do some work at home. The question is should my new computer be a mac or a PC. Because I heard macs are really good when it comes to Design like film editing and stuff but PCs can run more software. Any one have any advice?

PC.   It can run more software, there are more games out for it, and they can be had cheaper than Macs.

They are not, however, chick magnets. :D

Use whatever your university uses.

LordEC911 is probably going to get pissed. The search function works (now). NEway, Macs are more expensive, but they are indeed better for film editing (imovie, final cut). PC's also can run more software, and there are some pretty good commercial media recording/editing software available.

This is very true. Fist though, I'd ask if you're getting a laptop or a desktop. Personally, I've found Mac laptops to be nicer than PC laptops - recently. HOWEVER, if you plan to get a desktop for gaming/etc, by all means get a PC. They trounce mac desktops - no comparison in affordability, etc.

My major is in  digital media arts and i am using a pc but in the classroom i have to use a mac, in terms of using different software they perform about the same in my opinion but my preference is with the pc because that is what i am more comfortable with.  So it all depends on what you are more comfortable with. IMO it's alittle irritating to have to switch between computers because you have to learn how to be efficient with both of them so if you don't want to have to deal with that you may want to get whatever you have to use in class.
