I need to buy a powerful notebook by September. I really like the idea of getting a Mac since PCs seem to have so many problems, and I really like the look of them, but they're so expensive! Is it worth it? I need to run Autocad which needs Windows. I'm worried about how that might affect the performance of the Mac.

Alienware PCs seem to look very attractive, with a bit more style than most, and I've found them to be cheaper than Dell. I could buy a much more powerful PC for the money. So this seems to be the choice I'm leaning towards. What do you think would be the better choice? Is is there anothermake that would be even better?

I wouldnt go with a Mac, too expensive, and because they have dual boot, theyre gonna have just as many problems as any other notebook, September is along time away, if your going to buy it then dont start looking for the one you want untill 2 weeks before you actually buy, technology changes really fast and prices will drop, an alienware that'll cost you $1800 will probly cost you $1300 in september.

don't get either just get one from www.avadirect.com depending on what you want like if its for gaming or whatnot. If you just want an office computer just get any sytem with a dual core, 2 gigs of ram, windows xp and it should run just fine

if you're trying to find a good pc, there are cheaper alternatives to alienware, where you're just paying for the name.
