The AGP X1950Pro was the closest equivalent to the 7800GS and 7600GT (there was no 7900 made for AGP), but you'd be better off with the AGP HD3850.

3850 is the way to go,pending you have the cpu/ram to push it.They are also very power hungry,at least need a good 450 watt psu.But it is a great card,I run 1 with a 4200x2 and 2 gigs of ram,it runs crysis and far cry 2 mostly on high settings.

There's the 7900GS AGP and a 7950GT AGP from Nvidia's chips. I do believe those are their top end AGP cards.... I used to have their 7800GS AGP in my old computer 3-4 years ago, I could run Oblivion on a mix of medium to high settings with the draw distance almost at max. However, I think the HD3850 AGP is the best card available (with the 7950GT AGP close behind) for AGP.

3gigs ram

p4 3.0 cpu

power supply i think is 300 or 400 watt.

will this be good for a 3860 ati gpu?

also i had a ati 3650 from asus but when i put it in my machine, it was slow like crazy, any ideas why?

You have enough ram and cpu speed to push the 3850,not sure about the psu.You can try it,but if it doesn't work, don't give up,try to use 2 rails(it comes with a power adapter)that are as free as can be.You will be happy if the card runs,I love mine, and it benchs about the same as an 8800GT.If you run into problems, shoot me a message.I will help if I can.I did a lot of research on this card before I bought it.

I would just save the money and overhaul your computer completely. It would benefit you more. You don't need to spend hundreds of dollar's to upgrade to PCI Express mobo/dual core processor, as AMD has many viable solutions for people on a small budget. For example the Athlon 64 XP2 4400+ 2.3 ghz from newegg is $40 and can easily be overclocked to 2.8ghz-3.0ghz, There are boards priced around $50 for it as well that support PCI express graphic cards. Then for $85 you can get a 9600GT.
