I have an idea; stop, now.C_Rule
This. Assuming that you can even find all the parts... assembly is hell.
Don't do it man!
[QUOTE="pokemondude2012"]Well i would just buy a cheap laptop and get a solid state drive and max out the ram.GTR12
RAM and HDD/SSD are useless if you have a slow CPU.
@TC, you say youve been doing it for 5yrs, and you didn't know you can't build a laptop.
Well then buy a laptop witha decent cpu then. do what i said.Well then buy a laptop witha decent cpu then. do what i said. pokemondude2012
Still dont see your point, SSD's are expensive, especially laptop ones, and its alot smaller than the HDD in there already.
Also most people don't use more than 6GB or so, anymore than 10GBand you actually lose performance in games, its meant for design work, and you shouldn't use a laptop for that anyway.

I am just talking by experience i had with my fiends laptop. It was a dell inspiron. It was going so slow. i got an ssd and maxed the ram and its is the fastest laptop i have ever seen before. And besides he isnt using it for games.[QUOTE="pokemondude2012"] Well then buy a laptop witha decent cpu then. do what i said. GTR12

Most SSDs come in a standard SATA 2.5 configuration. They will fit in laptops, just replace your old hard drive.[QUOTE="ShadowsGameTime"]I dont work im 15 and have been studying computer parts and advanced skills for 5 years. Why do i need to work for a manufacturer.ionusX
because thats the only way your going to get parts for a laptop
Its amazing just how inaccurate this thread is. You can build your own laptop, but the total sum of the parts will be more than buying a laptop off the shelf. If you want to build your own, look for whitebox kits from Sager or MSI. On a side note, I suggest taking a look at Xotic PC. They have a very wide selection of customizable laptops, and they build them for you.[QUOTE="ShadowDeathX"] Most SSDs come in a standard SATA 2.5 configuration. Size as in available space to use, not the actual dimensions...
Pop it into the optical bay and use it as a boot drive. Really speeds up your system. Or if you're lucky, the notebook will have 2 drive bays.[QUOTE="ShadowDeathX"] Most SSDs come in a standard SATA 2.5 configuration. They will fit in laptops, just replace your old hard drive.GTR12

I'm poped an SSD into my laptop without problems. Just replaced the mechanical drive with the SSDPlease Log In to post.
