The latest consoles have high resolutions so they look alright but on my old PS2, the resolution is quite low so sometimes it becomes hard for me to read whats written on screen and to see icons and stuff easily. Is tehre any way that I can make it look better/clearer? Like by hooking it up to me monitor?

What type of display and cables are you currently using with your Ps2? These two factors will make a substantial difference in picture quality.

If your TV has component inputs then buy a PS2 compatible component cable. If not go with RGB or S-Video, just stay away from composite or regular scart cables.

Iam using the cables which came with the PS2. They are the Red, Yellow White ones. What are they called? I am not sure but I think my TVs dont have a very high resolution. So I am thinking of running it on my monitor.

That's composite cables, and they're lousy. Component on the other hand are red, blue and green along with another red and white for sound and they're are great. But if you don't have inputs like that go with S-Video or RGB cables, oh and there is barely any high-res PS2 games so a VGA cable for a PC monior wouldn't do you much good.
