My guess is that the hype will really pick up in Q2 2009.

Both SC2 and D3 will be out before the next Blizzcon. That aside, Blizzard is fairly tightlipped about what they'll reveal to the public, but for the most part they release good games, so I'll just say: trust :p

the community reps from D3 have been saying they are in an awkward faze for releasing information and SC2 is just pouding out the campaign and testing mechanics..nothing really to hear about for either atm..

I kind of like that they're keeping it somewhat secret. At least we know they're getting stuff done. Before the announcement of D3, I remember there being so much debate on whether or not there was even going to be a game. Then out of no where they release videos and information on a game that has clearly been in the works for awhile. I think it's reason enough to know that they're moving development quickly. Can't wait...

The FBI is likely to release information on the game every couple of decades or so.

No its not a lot..I think teams can be up to like 200 or more sometimes...blizzard typically has smaller teams so that they can keep the creative control over their projects instead of having the madness of the larger teams

50 is not a lot, but probably is just the number of developer staff working on the game. There will also be a large number of playtesters that will take many months to test the balance of the game.

Blizzard do tend to take their time making games, but when they come out they work well. I'd rather wait an extra couple of months and get a great balanced game, than get it early, suffer through bugs and then have a character nerfed in the first patch.

With the huge success of WoW, Blizzard are in the enviable position of being able to fund their own development, and crucially set their own release dates. If they decide the game isn't ready they can delay it without the repurcussions that smallers developers have with publishers.
