The game was broken at launch. I click 'start game' only for the game to tell me my save file is corrupted and even when i do get past that it crashes back to the desktop after like 2-3 seconds of an animated cutscene... No developer should ever release a game in this state.

No developer should ever release a game in this state. Definitely something wrong on your side, the game is not broken. I have it installed at home and at work. The 5 guys I work with also have it installed on their computers. Never had an issue so far and I'm up to level 5. Maybe a driver problem?
