Anyone here playing this expansion yet? I didn't finish NWN2, but from the GS review of the expansion, I may want to and then continue with the expansion. I like puzzles, dialogue and darkness.

If anyone has been playing this expansion yet, what are your thoughts?

-Thanks

Its pretty good, But I am hugely disapointed. I made a pale master character, just for the sake of going epic, and THERE IS NO EPIC PRESTIGE CLASSES!!!! :( It added a lot of good mage classes however.

It's an improvement on NWN2 story/dialog-wise and it has some nice grand battles. However, it's still marred by horrible bugs and a single very bad designchoice. I wont spoil :) ...

The expansion is much better then nwn2 OC, it really depends, it reminds me alot of PST with all the dialogue options, and the fact that you get alot of replay value from using different choices. There are some drawbacks though, one main plot issue that people do not like at all, same buggy control issues, and typical NWN2 issues.

overall i would give it about a 8 roughly , mostly subtracting for tech issues. i really did not mind the issue that many people have with your main charecter.

^That's encouraging to hear, y'all. Thanks for the comments, and more are welcome if you're playing this game.

My char in NWN2 was a mage. I forget what lvl I was when I got bored and quit. If I were to finish the game, could I export my char into the expansion? ... Or, alternatively, can you just start from scratch like you could in the NWN1 expansion1? Plus, is there an ingame option to smite Lindsay Lohan with the +4 Axe of Drunkarsecokehoe? :o

All I know is I am sure gonna need a helluva alot of convincing to buy this game... NWN2 imo was butchered by Obisidan in almost every concievable way.

I'm not that far into it but the NPC AI has still not improved. They'll charge through traps, waste spells, get stuck, and generally act like retards.

As for the game itself, I have yet to encounter any puzzles. The set piece battles are very challenging but it seems that trial and error play a greater role than actual tactics. You'd often get slaughtered, then have to reload and modify your memorized spells to win your way through.

Finally, depending on your class, the initial chapters can be brutal. Spellcasters as especially vulnerable as the first batch of NPCs who join you are all spellcasters too and not having a fighter type up front to soak up damage and act as a guard make things a lot tougher.
