It has just been confirmed that Mass Effect 2 will be on PC. What are your thought? Will you get it? Will EA screw it up? Tell us what you think.

I'm about 3 hours into the first game and I don't really feel like continuing it, so I'll pass (for now).
It won't be as good as the first. It's a natural law for EA to destroy/milk good series.
There's always hope though (Not really).
EA purchased BioWare before they made Mass Effect and that turned out ok. I beat ME twice and loved it. I personally can't wait for the second one.the_ChEeSe_mAn2Same here. I just finished the game for the 2nd time
It'll either be a great game (like the first one) or it will be a samey, generic game, and yet another example of EA milking the cashcow that is sequels of successful games. I personally don't have any faith in EA, and though I would love for this to be a great game, i'm not going to hold my breath
will EA screw it up? i dont think so. bioware know what there doing so i think EA will just write checks and take a very hands off approach. .osan0That's the whole idea, EA won't just write checks this time (like they did with Mass Effect), they will actively participate in making Mass Effect 2, with Bioware and a few new employees that Bioware will have.

I'd love to get this game when it comes out. I'm sure the actual game will be good, Bioware is still making quality games despite the EA monkey on their back. Hopefully, EA will relax on their paranoiac attitude towards DRM and get rid of those damned limited activations. With or without a revocation tool, limited activations is a no-sale for me, I don't care if the game is the electronic equivalent to the second coming. So, in that way EA can easily screw up a good game, just use the same style of DRM as they did on the first. JR and company are just the jerks to do that, too.

Umm, No..
It didnt.
http://masseffect.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=667518&forum=12t It only took them a year to ask their user base for help.... and to announce that they are working on a realpatch. The first technical patch, really. http://masseffect.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=666033&forum=127Read the user reponses....
And I'm one of the lucky ones where the game crashes all the time.... At least the protection fault errors disappeared with the latest Nvidia Drivers, but the game still crashes on a regular basis. Nah, the only reason they are doing all that is to iron out the PR for MA2, which I'm stillnot going to buy for the PC, until I know, for sure, if they ported it, right. To where it'll, at least, run stable.

Hmm I thought EA bought Bioware before ME for PC came out. I am sorry the game keeps crashing for you, but I am still looking forward to ME 2.Hmm I thought EA bought Bioware before ME for PC came out. I am sorry the game keeps crashing for you, but I am still looking forward to ME 2.the_ChEeSe_mAn2
Neither, Bioware nor EA are the problem....
The real problem laid with the 3rd party company that did the actual porting. In one of those two links, I left, you'll find this sentence: "This patch will be jointly developed by BioWare and Demiurge and will be available for all versions of Mass Effect PC" I'm sure it's this "Demiurge" that is the problem.
I bet that Demiurge was using follow up patches as leverage to get more money out of Bioware and EA; and, apparently, EA/Bioware didn't give in.... until now. That's my guess, anyway.... Regardless, I'm not buying the PC ME2, until I know for sure, that it works. I mean my PC plays all the other Bioware games just fine.... Even the first version of NWN2 played without crashing on my PC, (was just missing the sky in Full Screen mode.)
Well I had mixed feelings about the first one. If they improve the side quests, planet exploration (make somewhat interesting) and if they can put a little more polish into the sequel (the first one had many graphical and performance issues). It has just been confirmed that Mass Effect 2 will be on PC. What are your thought? Will you get it? Will EA screw it up? Tell us what you think.

I don't think EA will screw it up, I mean, the first one was EA too... The only sad thing is not having Sheppard on this one, but I think that was only a teaser thing, why would Bioware tell us to keep our ME saves?rmfd341
I'm thinking it's going to be one of those things where he has been presumed KIA when in fact he is not. Could make for an interesting game

hmmm not too sure. I don't mind the new EA being involved in this, as they have somewhat stopped ruining all their games, and investing into more and more quality niche titles. Hopefully this will translate well into ME2 development.

Well this confirms it, EA Montreal will be helping with the development of ME2. *Shivers at the thought* http://www.edge-online.com/news/new-mass-effect-2-group-ea-montrealPlease Log In to post.
