I had no where near as much fun playing Bioshock compared to when I played Mass Effect. Mass Effect all the way.

MAss effect 2 for sure I did not find Bioshock that great but I though ME was magnificient and it looks like there will be huge improvements with Mass effect 2.

Bioshock was a joke and I can see 2 being just as bad if not worse. Such a shame what they did to Shock.

I played bioshock when I had the flu and the thought of it disgusts me. Mass Effect was one of the best single player games Ive ever played.

Mass Effect 2, most likely.

The original Bioshock was too linear, too easy, and too predictable. It was an ok game because of the different ways to approach combat, but aside from that and the unique atmosphere, it wasn't much.

Mass Effect had an enjoyable storyline with an immensely larger background. The sci-fi elements were logical and believable (rather than 'Treky'). The combat was brought down by the squad AI, but still good. The enemies were extremely varied. I love that a specific ammunition would cause a specific death. It was pretty cool to watch an enemy freeze into a statue then float off into space. The game starts off slow, but it definitely picks up pace as you progress.

Mass Effect's story was DESIGNED around the idea of it being a trilogy. Therefore the second game's plot shall continue to be awesome. Bioshock's story ENDED. Bioshock 2 is forcing the story to live on, despite the fact it quite clearly was over. Therefore it is going to suck plot-wise.

Both games look fantastic but in the long run, comparing these two games side to side and having to choose between one another, I'd have to say mass effect 2.

I is happy with the poll results

I really hate Bioshock. Ive forced myself to play it recently and I just cannot do it. Its so boring, repetative, and worst of all, lacking any sort of challenge

Thanks everybody, This will make my choice MUCH easier but I played Bioshockand it was amazing. the only downside is that you dont do anything after you finish the game, same goes with Mass effect.

Same here I couldn't even finish that short game. I just started playing ME for the first time and so far it is a lot of fun.

Lol, yeah I can totally agree with you guys. I had a lot of friends that recommended me Bioshock like it was a gift from the heavens. I bought it for $5 from Steam during their holiday sale, and I still haven't finished it. The story and atmosphere is pretty cool, but the gameplay is very mediocre to poor, and most of the time it felt like a chore playing it. Not to mention the game has mandatory mouse acceleration, that drives me nuts. As for Mass Effect, its biggest flaw is the squad controls, but overall the game is still very playable (I wasn't really giving my squad many commands anyway), and it was fun to play and kept me wanting more, I've already played through Mass Effect a whole 3 times already, which is a lot more than I can say for Bioshock.

I'm more hyped for Mass Effect 2 at this point. Hearing about how they're using ME1 saves, seeing the E3 trailer, and reading about how it's supposed to be more epic and action-oriented have me hyped. It seems like Bioware has done more to improve their franchise than Bioshock, but we'll see once more is revealed about both games.

Bioshock 2 all the way, I'm very excited for it. I actually like how it's just straight forward fun not all my games have to be ultra in-depth nerdy **** for me to like it. I have Mass Effect but I haven't gotten very far into but so far it's pretty damn good.

Wait, why are we comparing these two, of all games? Dunno if you've noticed, ME is an RPG, Bioshock is a shooter with some RPG elements and targeted at an entirely different audience.....what's the point?

I played Mass Effect for the 360 first. I have it on the PC now, and I just started going through the game again.
The only complaint that I have is how barren the planets are. Some vegetation and trees would have been a nice touch on some worlds...
Another thing that should be pointed out is that Bioshock 2 is being made by...what, four developers? Five? It's some stupid number like that. Also, none of them are the company that made the first game (which I enjoyed I'd like to mention, sometimes it seems like I flame on it, but I flame it 'cause I love it. The combat was terrible, but the atmosphere and story are some of the best I've ever encountered in a game). I think that Bioshock 2 is going to be a perfect example of ye olde phrase "Too Many Cooks Spoil The Broth"

Yeah, I really liked Bioschock, unlike a lot of you... :? . But to me, Mass Effect 2 is just on another level. This is my most anticipated game right now, and I know it will deliver.

I enjoyed BioShock immensely, but ME is an unreal game. I just got it and put in a few hours, and I'm having a blast. I love this game, and all the choices you can make. It's very diverse. Comparing the two games is like apples and oranges, but definitely looking forward to ME2. I love the fact that the decisions you made in the first game carry over if you hold on to your saved game files! That is a great job by the developers. It gives the whole trilogy a ton of replay value. My only complaint of BioShock was that it was too short. The combat kind of sucked as well, but I could deal with it. I just wanted a longer game, primarily. I would've rather they made an actual System Shock 3, instead of a "spiritual successor" to it. With which, after playing it, I replied with a resounding, "Uhhh..NO??" lol

Does anyone think that BioShock 2 could be better than the first time? It looks like it has the potential to do so. Not that it would make it better than ME2, but just saying.
