Mass Effect at steam sale?

Hi. I want to buy Mass Effect and I was originally going to get it at the steam sale next week but direct2drive is have a sale on it for $7.95.

Should I get this now or wait for steam sales for a cheaper price? Also, if I get this from direct2drive, can I still activate it on steam? If not, I'll probably just get it from steam

No you cannot activate Mass Effect 1 on steam, it is not a "steamworks" game. As for whether you should wait for a steam sale to buy it ? Well there is no guarantee that Steam will have Mass Effect 1 in their Summer Sale. If it is going cheap on D2D at the moment then you might as well buy it cheap from them, there is very little difference between the steam version and D2D version.

The only other thing I would say is that D2D seems to be having some technical problems at the moment and their site isn't working.
