What are ppl's feeling on a MMO after the the 3rd game comes out? I think the potential is there. They are lots of races, classes and and a huge galaxy to play with. I know Bioware are doing the The Old Republic and it would be very similar but I don't the Mass Effect story to just end after the 3rd game.

What would be the story? All of the races (for the most part) are allied... The Reapers will be defeated in the 3rd game...? What will the story encompass? A peaceful galaxy of coexistance and trade between the species?

The MAss Effect universe is perfect for a MMO, its basically a better Star Trek!

The problem is that the game mechanic cant work in multiplayer...shame though.

Aren't both made by BioWare? TOR and ME series?

What is the point in making two MMO's that are taking place in future? Also StarWars has a larger audience.

Hell no Mass Effect is one of the best if not the best new IPs this generation. Do not screw up Mass Effect by turning it into a lame MMO.

This would make one of the more plausible ideas for an MMO.

Just cause something is made into an MMO doesn't automatically make it lame... I hope SW:ToR is awesome just like KOTOR1+2 so people like you who say this can be quiet for a while...

Hmm, lets see, i got zero interesnt on the story, the dialogues and the gameplay. My big complain is that while i like the setting and visuals the planets are small, very small. So i would most definetly play a mass effect mmo with big maps, mmo combat and no story.

If you take away the great story, dialogue and gameplay...then I think it isn't Mass Effect anymore, lol.... What did you not like about the story? I loved it and the dialogue. I guess you're not into RPG style stories, you just want Action action ACTION !!!

Well i dont think the story is "Great" its average at best and i am not the only one who thinks that. Therefore i dont care about the story. Kotor, the witcher, both had much beter story and dialogues. In the end i could care if it had no story since for me it hardly has any to begin with. I wish someone remade mass effect with much better story and better gameplay and alot of interactivity with the enviromet, bigger maps filled with exploration and other capabilties such as stealth and meele combat.

Fair enough, different tastes I guess. Maybe the story is simple, but it is presented in an epic way that makes it better.... I do agree that Mass Effect 3 should have more interactivity with the environment.... and stealth would be cool...

You are joking right? There is a TON of story in Mass Effect 1+2. Just because you can't pay attention, doesn't mean there wasn't any.

The story was wea in comparison with other great stories and the plot twists were weak or even non existant. Basicly i found the story generic and weak. Like they developed the story as they go without making a script first, so they had to give cheap answers to simple questions and some of them were pretty much lame. Like why Saren is against the council.

Spoilers:

Because he is brainwashed by a spaceship ai that is a race that has destroyed everything many times ago Sureeeeeee, thats the perfect scheme to destroy a villian's greatness and a pretty weak unthought answer to the question "what the hell is going on"

end of spoilers.

Maybe thats just me, i wont argue about it any further, but lets just say i have higher standards in story. For example right now i am enjoying a tv series called fringe with very good script and presantation and it has cluses in the episodes that let you make some guesses of how the story will progress, without picking a character and make him tell you the entire history like it happens with the prothean ai just to fill in for the lack of info till that point instead it evolves as you watch. (The protheai ai was so damn borring to sit and listen, add some cutscenes instead damn it)

The Old Republic has some clear elements that ME doesn't that would help it in the mmo market.

Star Wars is a vast story spanning longer than most stories period, literally thousands of years. Plus a fan base that would literally blow your mind. Star Wars 1979 and it came out big too, (and ever growing since.)

ME has been out only a few years. (but I loved the first, haven'tplayed the second) and I would be interested in, but hear me out.

ME is a great game don't get me wrong, but ME being an mmo, wouldn't have near the chance of TOR, and we don't even know if TOR is going to be crappy or great (sure we have our hopes.) My point is lets see how TOR does, with all its advantages and setting/theme/potential, before we even worry with ME MMO.

Now if we lived in a society that allowed great games to be made and put out regardless of Sales/profit/bring in.... This game would be great, (along with many other concepts and aspiring developers that can't afford to "make it." But unfortunately we haven't evolved the system enough for this to be possible, without some sort of lasting "repercussion."

It wont happen because BioWare already has their hands full creating the mmorpg SWTOR. I dont think it should happen either... why do people crave game series to make MMORPG's so much?

It could work you know, if they set it during the First Contact War. Or if they're comfortable with not including humans in the game, during the Rachni Wars and the Krogan Rebellions.

It's not impossible, lol. It'd be easy actually to make a mass effect MMO. The planets are still a bit barren but add some more lore like they did to WoW and you'll have a mass effect mmo with combat and background story...

ya i could see it work, except theyre better off with star wars since mmos are pretty much a pc only thing. a mass effect mmo wouldnt be quite as dumb as a halo mmo, but still kinda dumb. i wouldnt mind seeing a new ip as an mmo from bioware though.

First i have to say i find mmos to be lame. But i dont know a mass effect mmo somehow strikes me as a new game, it feels diffirent and the universe could be sucessfull as an mmo. If ea gets the feeling it can work as an mmo, they will do it just to get as much money as they can.

I don't deny that EA could find a way to make it work (for them), but I personally would not be interested in such MMO. I like Mass Effect games for their single player and how the storylines revolve around Shepard and his crew. When you plug in hundreds of thousands of wannabe Shepards into a gameworld simultaneously...it just feels weird and disconcerting.

Hell Yes! As long as it wasn't watered down. I would like to see an SWG style mmo with customized player created items and cool pvp gun battles.

If its just more of the same kiddie mmo's then hell no.

Unless TOR fails miserably or the MMO market triples overnight, another sci-fi based MMO from Bioware wouldn't make sense for atleast another 10-15 years.

10-15 years is an eternity in video games.

I would say about 5-7 years after TOR launches would be fine to have bioware start on a new space-opera MMO.
