So what game should I buy? Assassin's Creed or Mass Effect? Both games are good but I can only buy one with my money. Please help me...lance435
I already talked about this, Mass Effect is far beter in so many ways, its plays better performance wise and its beautiful. Assasins Creed gets boring and repetitive after an hour and is a system hog.
MASS EFFECT, BUY IT!
Assassin's Creed is an ok game that gets a bit repetitive and doesn't have much replayability. Mass Effect is a cinematic RPG with questionable DRM and not much replayability either. If you took away the DRM that Mass Effect tried to force upon the consumer I'd buy that one.

well I have to disagree with the "not too much replayability" part you mentioned. I put in 30+hours into my first run, and I am on my third playthrough right now and the game is still incredibly fun. Plus there is always the outlook of downloadable content.

I disagree, with Assassins Creed I played the entire game once and never touched it afterwards. With Mass Effect I'm currently halfway through my second play through and will probably play this game a couple more times in the future.

Which game are you talking of? AC or MEPC? You didn't make it that clear...
I only played Assassins creed and im still having fun with it, it looks awesome on my pc and going around in the rooftops climbing is incredibly fun; i'm in acre killing the 3rd bad guy, but the game do has some flaws, the combat is not very good gets too easy after a while, when go in ur horse going from ur base to the different cities it can be incredibly annoying cuz u have to go by sooooo slow every time u c a guard T_T.
I'm getting Mass effect soon i hope is as good as everyone says :).
I only started playing Mass Effect, but I've found it to be a bit too focused on dialogue and presenting story to you. I mean sure, the story is great, the voice acting is great too, but the gameplay just seems really shallow, linear and restricted for an RPG. All those items I pick up dont seem to be very usefull, same with the skills you can train your characters in. It seems like I can finish the game or at least get to where I am now without even spending any skills or using any new weapons.
It really seems like they spent all their development time on the production of the game instead of the maps and gameplay. Everywhere I go into seems artificial and there's nothing in the environments that seem to be there for a purpose. But the maps in the game feel way too restricted, it just feels like a bunch of paths I need to walk around.

Oh sorry! I meant Mass Effect, yeah lol I would NEVER put that much time into AC, you would have to pay me A LOT of money for that :p
You're right about a lot of the aspects of Mass Effect, it is a story driven game, the dialogue is excellent and so is the voice acting. Its true that the combat is lacking, Im playing on my first playthrough on the hardest difficulty available with target assistance off since Im playing as a sniper that would be no fun, but the game is very easy. Enemies always seem to be stupid, when you snipe them from afar they just stand around waiting to be killed. I guess after playing Crysis I expect AI to be better?
The item system is average, there should be unique items. The thing I hate most about the game is the side quest maps are all the same, just reskinned. But even with all these flaws, it's an excellent RPG game. As good as The Witcher.
Assassin's creed is fun, has good graphics, it's pretty diverse (buildings, architecture), it has townsmen like no other game before even though some say they are just scripted, they do add to the atmosphere and no game did it on this scale before, but after a while you won't care about the missions, only exploring and trying different killing techniques.
Mass effect is better, because it has a better story and because it's bigger and not that repetitive, but it does have some issues with the graphics and it is full of bugs, the buggiest game I played so far. I had lots of freezes, the elevator would go on and on and on (about 6 minutes then I said to hell with it, exit and star all over) and I even had trouble entering on Normandy, it just said "decontamination in progress" and it was just repeating and decontaminating :| and alt tabbing doesn't work for this game, it crashes :|. Even with all those problems Mass Effect is very good and you should buy iy because it's pretty cheap.
Alt tabbing does work in Mass Effect :) I do it all the timeElectricNZ
Not for me. (Vista)
Maybe it works on XP or maybe on Vista too, but for me and few others it doesn't :(. + I also have the 8800GT that is suppose to have problems in ME, but it worked just fine, except the bugs :|.

Works for me, but it takes 30-45 seconds for it to come back up.
I've only just begun playing ME. I finished AC several weeks ago. AC's gameplay really needs alot more material, but I will say this for the game, its graphics are years ahead of ME's. ME's graphics are a huge disappointment for me. Games that came out 5 years ago have better graphics than ME, and I have every setting maxed out. The facial animations are OK I suppose, but not nearly as good as those in HL2. And so far the storytelling in ME seems elementary. The control scheme seems obnoxiously incoherent. But as I said, I am early in the game so hopefully the overall experience impresses more.Qixote
wow. i think mass effect has gorgeous graphics.

My thoughts exactly. Can't say I've seen better face-animations in a game in my entire gaming life. Oh well, to each his own.

uh.... dude that makes no sense. this game has unarguably the best facial animations i've ever seen. how the F*** are the ones in half life 2 better? either you have no eyes, or you definitly arent playing on max settings.
The facial animations in HL2 are so good that you can see their emotion. In Mass Effect, the characters all look like they have been overdosed on Botox. They look like zombies that can blink and talk. Thanks for asking and have a nice day.
