Mass Effect PC Gamepad support (patch)

I realize that it may be too little, too late, but for those of you that hates to play withthe keyboard/mouse combo inME1 PC, i have been able to re-enable full 360 Gamepad functionnality as well as some of the 360 menu GUI. Now at least 80% of the game can be played with the gamepad.

here's what was re-enabled from the 360 version:

*Splash screen / 100% working
*Loot menu (when getting items in containers) / 100% working
*Map (right trigger not scrolling but can be moved with left stick)
*Galaxy map (right stick not scrolling text, but there isn't much text to scroll anyway)
*Conversation wheel / 100% working
*Journal / 100% working
*Gameover screen / 100% working
*Message boxes (confirm A / cancel B) / 100% working

*Force Feedback / 100% working

left as is (but they all work greatwith the gamepad):

*Shops
*Save/Load
*Codex
*New character/New game
*Inventory
*Decrypter minigame
*Tutorials

*Pause menu (wheel)

Needs the mouse:

*Tactical hud only

Awesome, thank you very much. I played the demo with the xbox controller so I was disappointed the game dropped the support so I shelved it. With your .ini I've dusted it of just in time to wet my appetite for Mass Effect 2.

I guess good things come to those who wait.:) Once you've mastered Xbox 360 controller in FPS it spoils you going back to keyboard + mouse. Plus its 2009 with so much to those from in the way of descent games you can afford to be fussy so I only try and play games with force feedback support.

However I must admit COD Modern Warfare 2 on the PC is occupying my dreams even though it doesn't have gamepad support !
Do you think you will be able to do anything with the .ini for it ( Modern Warfare 2 ) so we can use our Xbox360 controllers at least, if not also for feedback support?

With this edited .ini can you remap keys to what you want them to be? I have a PS3 controller hooked up to my PC so seeing 360 buttons on screen would get kind of confusing.

I've already tried this patch. While it does work perfectly with the 360 controller, I still prefer KB&M more because it has better accuracy. I didn't check to see if the sensitivity was adjustable, so this patch might actually be very good, but I was having the hardest time aiming on one of the Mako levels and uninstalled right away.

I doubt that a .ini file for MW2 is possible. MW2 is one of the least customisable games I own (still fun though), if someone did make this I wouldn't be surprised if it got labeled as a cheat or something along those lines. I don't know why you would want a controller for MW2, it is much simpler to shoot someone with a mouse IMO.
