PC_X360

you should be fine, although i'm not sure about maxing out. the minimum system requirement was like a p4 2.4 or something like that. you meet the recommended for the rest...

A dual core 2.2GHz is equivalent to a 4Ghz+ Pentium4

I want to know if that "Intel" means a P4 or C2D.

I'm glad to see they kept the specs realistic. There are a bunch of PC gamers out there that want to play games like Mass Effect but too many of them don't have the latest and greatest setups. I'm just hoping Mass Effect turns out to be a good port just like KoTOR and KoTOR 2 were.

the system requirements are on par with games like cod4 and gears of war and so forth.

for gears of war, the requirements are intel 2.4, amd 2.0; for cod4, it's p4 2.4 and amd 64 2800 (1.8, i believe). so it seems reasonable that the intel 2.4 and amd 2.0 minimum system requirements for mass effect is referring to intel p4 and amd 64.

That doesn't make sense, though. My 3200+ is equivalent to a 3.4GHz P4 in gaming. To have 2.4 Intel and 2.0 AMD is extremely inaccurate, as a 2GHz A64 will stomp a 2.4GHz P4 into the ground.

i dunno. all i know is that those are the minimum system requirements listed for the games mentioned. so if it's true for those games, then it could very well be true for mass effect.

I can't wait. It's a great game. I played it and loved it on the 360 but the PC version has the potential to be so much better.

If your assembling for PC games,

I suggest you buy what is the highest or latest in the market

Because for sure in a year or half they're junk! ^^

Lol yea no sh*t. I'm gonna be able to max this game out, or come close to it. It just looks like a fun game.

Not always! normally mid priced cards have much greater price/performance! For example an 8800gt or 9600gt would be a much better option for most pc gamers!

nahh, except for my video card, my system is well over 2 years old (going on 3 soon) and still rock solid even running the latest games. get the best hardware you can afford, and learn to optimize it for lasting as long as possible.
