I waited quite a while for the first time.. but as I already said it was pointless because the game closes, I can see how it closes in the taskmgr so there is nothing to wait for :(
mmk here's my pc...
Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs)
2048MB RAM
RADEON X800 Series 512mb
200 GB Disk
Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2
The Mass Effect Configurator program automaticly sets everything on high details so I dont think my pc is a problem...

well, that's not the best graphics card around. did you try lowering the settings?
I would recommend that you search Pentium D in the hardware forum to see what other people have recommended with a similar set up, like this.
These are the recommended requirements for Mass Effect:
NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX or higher.
ATI X1800 XL series or higher
These are the minimum requirements:
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or better (7300, 7600 GS, 8400 GS, and 8500 are below minimum system requirements)
ATI X1300 XT or better (X1300, X1300 Pro, *X1600 Pro*, HD2400, and *HD2600* are below minimum system requirements)
Just make sure the interface for the card matches your motherboard (AGP, PCI-E etc.) and that your power supply is sufficient.
