I installed the gameand got to the start upmenu with play, support, uninstall, ect. I click play then after about 10 seconds of me staring at my desktop the window pops up saying "Mass Effect" has stopped working. What am I doing wrong? System requirements says that I can run it on recommended settings and I own Vista. Thanx for any help.

This is a problem with Vista...I just had it the other day. To fix it: right click on the launcher and go to properties, click on "Compatibility" and at the bottom check the box "Run this program as an administrator", if you click on the button below that there is another run as administrator check box to click so all users can play it as well.

Yeah update your drivers. I played through about half the game unpatched on Windows XP 32-bit with an E6700 and an X1900XT, it crashed maybe twice, latest drivers always help. I've played through it twice with the patch on the system in my rig with no crashes at all. So all in all in my experience the game itself is very stable, so try updating the drivers.

That shouldn't be an issue, I played through it with it on.

For some games in vista it helps, and it never hurts to try.

Could be a number of things. Try the Mass Effect website, they have very helpful people there who have probably encountered every error in the book. You'll probably have better luck finding answers there.
