I need help choosing an MMO. I'm deciding between Pirates of the Burning Sea, World of Warcraft, or City of Heroes. I really need help! Please no,"You MUST choose WoW/Pirates/City!". Just an opinion, please! :)

If you want to raid (massive amount of players doing 1 activity for a few loots), play WoW. (CoH has 2 raiding encounters...instead of a LOT)

If you want to group/solo in PvE, City of Heroes is fun all the way until the end. (WoW allows you some limited amount of solo/grouping, but in the end, you will be uncompleted and subpar unless you raid)

If you want to feel like smuggling/pirating, PotBS.

If you want to PvP...prolly WoW, but other also have some PvP options...

It really come down to what you want to do, basically.

Of those three, I think it should either be CoH or WoW. WoW is pretty darn fun the first time through but it does because a monotonous grind at the endgame. CoH, from what I hear, is very casual friendly but the one drawback might be the population which is sparse to say the least when compared to WoW.

Pirates seems like a decent game but from what I hear, it sorely lacks content to really keep you entertained for long.

 Another edit! (I made the post fast, okay?) I am also thinking about Lord of the Rings online, too. This is my final edit, though. Thanks for being so patient. :)

Should try Eve Online eve-online.com. There is a 14 day trial for it and I recommend it highly. High end graphics large community and LOTs of content. Training is done in real time so no exp. grinding. It has a high learning curve but thats becasue there is alot of things to do. There is only 1 server no splitting of server like in WoW, everyone plays on the same server. On average there are 30~40 thousand people online at a time on 1 server.

Free Trial: 14 Days (Trial can be created multiple times)

$14.xx a month (SKills continue to train even after subscription cancelation)

You know what you probably want to do. I don't play MMOs at all and I'm pretty sure that everyone on her is going to have a pretty biased opionion towards the game they spend most of their time on.

I would go and download the free trials for all the games you are considering (I at least know that WoW has like a 10 day free trial) and try them out. The one you like the better, the one you pick up. That simple.

Good point. VikingLord13 I have already pointed out that Eve Online offers a free trial system. Check it out.

Then who ever told you that was a fool. Try every single trial out for MMOs, except WoW. WoW is junk.

this year, Age of Conan and Warhammer Online will be batteling for the best mmo of 2008, for one of those to take wow's spot in 2009 is possible

if you can't wait to get into a mmo, go for wow, it's a sure bet

if you want to wait .... wait for the trials of Age of Conan and Warhammer Online

As other say, all these MMOs have a free trial. About the same monthly fees.

GW is about PvP, and is kinda casual last I heard. Make your mind based on that, I heard it has some neat aspects.

EvE is a nice game, but be aware that it is NOT welcoming to PvE-players, no matter what they say, it is open FFA PvP everywhere, the fact big ugly Concord will rush to the rescue in half the areas is little consolation...especially that...you will want to go in sectors not protected by the Concord, so again, for a real PvE-player, stay FAR from EvE until they open a PvE-server at the very least (since it won't happen, just don't support it if you want to PvE).

Again, there is a free trial for all of these. Aion, Stargate and BioWare MMO are all coming soon/eventually as well, and you should keep an eye open for these.
