**English isn't my mother language so i will probably assassinate the grammar :p Don't worry, i'm trying to improve it! __________________________________________________ I bought a new cheap laptop, i usually only use my computers to watch music and movies, navigate on the internet, etc. But i want to try some cool games, i'm currently playing Team Fortress 2 and i'm loving it. I'm playing with 2xMSAA, 1920x1080 (i'm using my LCD) and almost everything on high settings and the framerate is good (28~45fps). But new games will probably run like sh** even on low/medium settings. My specs: - Pentium P6000 (1.86GHz, 3MB L3 Cache); - ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470 512mb (up to 2235MB Hyper Memory); - 4GB RAM. Can you guys recommend me some games (any genre)? I'm currently downloading some demos, like BulltStorm, Magika and Mass Effect 2.

Since you're on a lappy I'll recommend some of my favorites that are easy to run

Hitman Blood Money

Dark Messiah

Far Cry

Manhunt 1 & 2

Prey

Well, here's a few that I liked.

RPGs/adventure games

Witcher
Dragon Age: Origins
Dragon Age 2 (it's bad compared to DA:O and extremely repetitive - the levels - but it's pretty fun)
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Torchlight
Fallout New Vegas

Strategy/City building

Starcraft 2
Dawn of War 2 series ( DoW 2, Chaos Rising, Retribution)
Company of Heroes and the expansion Opposing Fronts, the 2nd expansion is pretty bad
World in Conflict
Heroes V series
Civilization V
Anno 1404 + Venice
Tropico 3 + Absolute Power

Shooters

Dead Space 2 (if you didn't play 1, don't worry, it's nothing great, not compared to 2, you can read about the story on wiki or similar places)
Portal 2 (not really a shooter but it'd fit better here) in one word, amazing, this game is almost perfect
Crysis 1/ Crysis Warhead - get the maximum edition if you're interested

Monday Night Combat
Killing Floor

Battlefield Bad Company 2

Mafia 2

Racing

NFS Shift 2 Unleashed
Trackmania United
Test Drive Unlimited 2
Dirt 2
GRID
Burnout Paradise

Others

Braid
Toki Tori
Rush
Plants vs. Zombies

You might have to run some of them on low, at lower resolutions (1080p is an overkill for that GPU), but if you don't have something better to run them on, it'll do :P.

I would have loved to know any specific genres you like.

Anyways:

Vampire the masquerade: Bloodlines

Amnesia: The dark descent

Civ 4

Counterstrike (source or 1.6 is up in the air, Im a source guy myself)

Deus Ex might be worth looking into (the first game)

Killing floor should work aswell.

I might recommend BF2 rather then BF:BC2 soley due to the specs you have, it is older ofcourse, and gives/takes in some areas. But alot less likely to make your lappy whimper :P

Aside from PVZ (and maybe GTA and Burnout), those games would be too demanding for his 5470 to handle. You could go by with mid-low settings, though.

Based on your lappy's TF2 performance, you should be able to handle Source games as well. I'd recommend the Half-Life, Portal and L4D games.

I think the term "Master Race" does fit in with a lot of the PC elitists though.

Most of these, though add Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl.
