Max Payne 3 Announced

The award-winning Max Payne franchise put players in the role of Max Payne, a hard-boiled New York City detective with a penchant for violence, out to avenge the death of his family. The latest installment delivers more of the ****c elements and hyper-intense action that fans have come to love, while moving the story of Max in a new direction.

"We're starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "This is Max as we've never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation."

Since leaving the NYPD and New York itself behind, Max has drifted from bad to worse. Double-crossed and a long way from home, Max is now trapped in a city full of violence and bloodshed, using his weapons and instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out.

Max Payne 3 will be available in winter 2009 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

I'm a big fan of the first two games, hope that they don't manage to mess this one up with a crappy SP campaign and poor writing like some of the other shooters today.

I am hopeful but since there is no mention of remedy I am also worried.

The style is meh...can only hope for the best with Rockstar's latest efforts (GTA4 port)

When you actually retrospect Max Payne, well personally, it wasn't really that miraculous of a game. Standards today are much higher and with development not in Remedy hands this time around this can be just another TPS. Don't be disappointed when this is another poor port to PC, granted these are the people who developed Bully and well, you know how rubbish Bully was on PC from a performance perspective.

Today Rockstar Games has announced that Max Payne 3 is in development, and is penned for a winter 2009 release across Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Finally!The game i've been waiting for years!Bring it on already!

I'm really happy about this news, a big big fan of the first two and now will be eager to see how this one turns out. Bullet Time for 2009 already too.

I am however like most you guys a bit concerned about how it will be on the PC(regarding the recent poor ports from Rockstar, especially after GTA IV which is a big franchise), and what the gameplay+story will be like since Remedy who are working on Alan Wake aren't involved either; and as mentioned will it be more than just another TPS. Will be interested to see if Mona is back too due to the alternative ending in Max Payne 2.

If this is going to be anything like a GTA clone, I'm going to shoot myself.

Well if they use the GTA 4 engine I might have some reservations, but this is exciting news, I always preferred the Max Payne series to GTA.Gooeykat

Alan Wake engine? **** rockstar are doing it.

In theory this could be a great game.

I played both 1 and 2,i liked the first more,but both games were ground breaking...

So when i heard Max Payne 3 was coming...
