What are some of your ideas for Max Payne 3 if it were to be announced and confirmed?
The first person to say "its been cancelled" will get some frozen yogurt that I call frogurt. The frogurt is poisoned.

Greatmax: Hmmm....I don't know yah? lmao. Ahhh....somethings you just don't joke about...that fiend is long dead. I watched a little clip of House of the Dead: the movie of the game, of the arcade phenomenon (TM), and he actually had the nerve to put little random clips of the zombies from the game in the movie...it was just weird. Although at least we are almost certain that he has sunk to a watery grave. Pirates have been suspected of murdering him when filming Far Cry off the coast of the US of A. Surely not even he could survive the freezing depth of the cruel monster I sometimes call the Ocean....
Anywho....have a look at this link for proof of ol' man Payne, German free too...

Customizable clothes ftw. By the way, ITS NOT COMING OUT! Just kidding plz don't hit me ty :DGiveMeIce
Customisable clothes? Hmm okay, its different I'll give you that. Frogurt anyone?
Ahem..what about the story though!!
Maybe it could be a prequel to the first Max Payne and take place before he married his wife and had a kid, that was unfortunately killed. Maybe about his job as an nypd cop. Or it could take place a long time after MP2, when he is retired and a lot older. Or it could always just start right after the second.Anime910
prequel idea is awesome!
Better contols. More Subways. Good animations for once. Sense of humour maybe. Elaborate on story some more. Use a Resident Evil 4 style camera.

The controls are excellent already - Its a benchmark for 3rd person games already. And they don't need to change the camera. Really there isn't much they can change per se. If they add too many extras then it wouldn't be a Max Payne game then. Its tricky. I don't know where they can take the story. I don't want a prequel though - I'd just like the story to go forward ..

Bull Max Payne had awful controls and yet limited. I remember this level in Max Payne where you had to walk across the red line and not fall off only I fell off like 80-100 times, god that pissed me off pretty bad the first time I ever threw my Ps2 controller. You have the ps2 version....I was most certainly not referring to the console version my friend. I have only played the game on PC and it controls beautifully. From what I have read the quality of the game differs greatly across the platforms. PC the best as always. :Dbiggest_loser:(

You've got to be kidding me. RE4's camera and gameplay mechanics is the WORST 3rd person mechanics for PCs. It's only good for consoles. Anyway, it would be better if there are cinematic cutscenes rather than the comic style storytelling. I agree with more subways but sense of humour i do not think so. As far as i can remember, Max Payne is a very dark and serious game. Putting in a sense of humour would make it feel wierd.
This may not be the most creative suggestion ever, but nothing. I don't think anything needs adding. Max Payne 1 and 2 are both utterly wonderful. The visuals were astounding at the time, the gunplay was a ton of fun, it was (and to my surprise still is) unique, the stories tend to be somewhat generic, perhaps even cliché but they are excellently well told.
If I can play a unique game with fantastic gunplay, an enjoyable protagonist, an excellently well told story (the what doesn't matter to me as much as the how - noir is all so cliché, but it's the dialogue and the characters and the voicework that brings it to life)and some amazing visuals - what more do we really need?
All the game really needs is for it to hold to modern standards - visual quality, animation quality and so forth. But besides that, the Max formula is just about perfect - that's why both games are so damn good. Improvements can be made, I suppose, but nothing too radical.
Someone suggested a prequel. I won't say no, but just remember that Max's melancholy is a major factor in both games. If it is set before he met and lost his wife, he'll be a completely different person. A happy max, or perhaps a not-unhappy Max, just wouldn't be Max.

I really hate to say this....I don't want to say but I'm going to bite the bullet...
I actually completely agree with you!! No my friends I am not suffering from the plague or the black lung.....anymore...I agree with this gentlemen.
The forumla is close to perfect yes, but people would surely contest if Max Payne 3 was nearly identical to its predecessors. I probably wouldn't, but I'm just saying people might say its just the same thing.

How can you justify RE4 on pc when it's clear it was a lazy port. Even if on consoles RE4 had by far the best controls I've experience for a 3rd person shooter.Edit: Controlling the main character in Max Payne felt clumsy and unrealistic then again I playd it on PS2 but they said the controls felt they were made for consoles.

you have a point there, somehow watching Max Payne pay the bills kinda wouldn't be the same. Still he has been through so much already, I think the guy needs a break :P

Why do you hate to say you agree with me? That really hurts my feelings. Seriously. I'm a very sensitive person and you've really upset me here today.
I'm probably going to go to bed with a tub of ice cream now and cry myself to sleep.
As for the complaint of it being more of the same - yeah, I was going to comment on that in my first post. I was going to say that it's now about five years since we saw a Max game, and if and when a new Max game comes, it'll probably be upwards of seven years since - so I don't really see too much to complain about, not when EA can release a new C&C game every 3 years that's exactly the same as all the others and it can top the sales charts.
A completely new, modern engine with all the fancy visual effects modern PCs offer would probably negate most of the deja vu. More of the same-ness doesn't really carry over long periods of time with games, thanks to technology. In my experience, anyway.
There has to be something new not just improvements (points at the difference of starcraft and starcraft 2)lordlors
Yes....I realise that but WHAT exactly. They can't really improve the game all that much anyhow. What innovations have you got in mind?
Yes! Multiple pathways in the game! How about vehicles? Not sure on that...
Also, what if you could choose like a frame in the graphic novel, like choosing a particular story path. Maybe with some moral choices. What do people think?

Yes definetly, kinda like those "choose your own adventure" books.
There's another thing: which ending are they going to go with?
I really, really hope they choose the second one. For those who have watched it you'll know why.

That was an obvious thing to say lol, no offence. Could the game start with you perhaps choosing a path in the graphic novel that reflects how the 2nd game ends or something? Though everyone choose to see Mona alive of course....and yeah for those who want to **** about spoilers too bad lol. biggest_loser
Excusemwah Biggest Loser but I believe in your attempts to be humourous as usual and succeeding of course you have forgotten that the ending where Mona lives is actually pronouned as "the real ending". Now I don't know if thats entirely true, I'm sure you will correct me madam, but that would mean that thats how the third game should start. How do you think they will explain it though? There is bound to be some bonehead...not us since we have finished the game numerous times, that has not seen the "real" ending and will be confused. They need to think of some way to explain it!
Nice discussion on the Alyx thread by the way ol' Son! I'm sure they will be lining up for you with their stones after that one! Heheh, we'll see anyhow! Night xo.
I might have been an obvious thing to say but it's true, there doesn't seem to be a great deal of story left. The game could start from choosing a path but were would it lead? As I said before it would have to be a different storyline.

Yes sorry that was rude of uhhh....well me I guess. I have just been having a conversation with myself if you haven't noticed. We get along quite well ...well till it ends in an arugment..but lets keep that quiet ahem..Anywho...I or we have decided that there will be no choice but the developers will start with the alternative ending as the beginning of the third game. Yes as crazy as that sounds thats how it'll go down my friend.
Face it, Max Payne is through.
One of my favorite sereis and I've beat both games across 3 platforms, but it's all over IMO
Alan Wake is the Future or remedy.... Alan Wake... the Alan Wake 2: The fall of Alen Wake, if you get my drift.
For now, Let's savor the classics that are MP & MP2, and hope that AW will at least come out in 2008 and be a decent game!

The horror....
Didn't anyone take notice of the link I provided that provides a quote from one of Take-Two's goons stating that a new Max Payne is on the agenda.

Maybe it was a junior executive who couldn't keep his mouth shut...Don't you just hate people like that? :)
if it ain't broke....just make it stronger.
i woudn't mind to see more advanced physics and updated graphics. Character animation has come a long way and would look top notch ingame like max payne. bullet wounds on enemies. if they went with the second ending where mona lives..perhaps in the enw one she could die throwing max into a world of hate sadness and revenge. id definitly like the game to be longer. destructible environments but not to the inssane levels of say stranglehold. melee moves which reflect max's anger and desperation like knifing a guy in the throat or disarming them violently giving you a morale choice of whether or not you want to let them live. This could go towards different endings.max shoudnt do crap like swinging from chandeliers because thats not his style.
just my two cents.
Uhhhh. I like everything ar the moral choice of letting them live. Remember this game is about pace. You run you shoot you keep going. There is little time to decide whether they should live.
