"Original Max Payne actor James McCaffrey will play a part, but not the main part. Who will be Max Payne is a question that remains unanswered.

Max Payne 3 has a radial menu for weapons in addition to cover mechanics and expendable scenery. Signature Max Payne abilities shoot-dodge and Bullet Time return, with the latter charged by killing enemies.

Payne can dual-wield weapons and carry up to three small firearms at once."

Four Rockstar studios - London, Toronto, Vancouver and New England - are collaborating on Max Payne 3.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-04-04-max-payne-3-resurfaced-and-detailed

"Eight years after the events of the second game. Payne is out of the NYPD. Far out somehow he's drifted south working as private security contractor in São Paulo"

"Now instead of comic book frames, these dramtic plot pointers use the in-game engine and show an animated collage of action footage."

Max Payne 3 Scans

I'm still not feeling it and Max Payne is like my favourite ever game. Before the first ever screens appeared if you asked me about Max Payne 3 I would go say no more just take my money but now not as enthusiastic but I'm still gonna give it a chance just because.

At least they gave back his hair partially after the response they got from bald Max. I liked some of those screens where it took me back to the previous games and am really happy to see James McCaffrey return.

It still just feels out of place without Remedy at the helm and I don't get the direction they've taken.

This new Max Payne makes me think of John Creasy of the film Man on Fire

Well its good to see some news. I'm just not convinced about why it has to be set in Brazil. Thats a big detractor for me because New York is such an integral portion of the narrative, the themes, the character. I think its a mistake to change the setting. Noir is about so much more than just shadows and some gloomy lighting. I'd be surprised if they drastically changed the interface too. I mean, in both games the interface for selecting guns is so clean, so minimal. Its very similar to Half-Lifes. Is it really necessary to change something that worked to effortlessly? We'll see.

Can't say I'm happy about the setting, but it still looks better than what I thought it would look like. Some of those screens remind me of the first two games.
Here's to hoping it turns out good.

Looks interesting. I'd be hard to take it as a game of its own, it won't be better than the last two but it can be a decent entry to the series.

It is. I read from Gamesradar that Max Payne 3 will be taking you back and forth in time. This means Max Payne with and without hair. Hopefully we get to play more parts with hair. :P I don't have anything against bald characters...even though there are so many as it is, I just prefer Max Payne with his suave hair style. :D

This is Rockstar!Crimsader
Rockstar Vancouver - Bully - not GTA IV etc. Big difference. They'll probably sell this game just on the Rockstar tag alone. Scary.

Actually, it's being worked on by several Rockstar teams. London, Toronto, Vancouver and New England. But yes, Vancouver is the lead studio.

The lead is still Vancouver. The others are probably just helping supply assets. They already have GTA V to work on and LA Noire

Rockstar had better not ruin it by making it open-world or some such nonsense. I am distinctly not impressed that they are screwing with the comic book style story panels if this is true.

Wow, I liked the screens and I really wanna see the euphoria engine in action in this kind of game.

Also I am a big fan of max and It hurts seeing him so old, hope the narrative is still film noir-ish.

It better be more Noir than Splinter Cell: Conviction. Why do I keep getting this feeling that it will feel like Conviction? I had high hopes for that game as well, and then they scrapped a potentially deep game into, well you know.. IMHO!

True, but I am more optimistic about Rockstar than Ubisoft.

Max Payne 1 and 2 are my favourite TPSs of all time. Why?Because they are fast paced and have 1 pixel for crosshairs.

Rockstar is turning this great series into a gears clone.I mean, look at max.He is obese just like marcus fenix. The game will be very slow because of lame cover system and the crosshairs will cover half the screen.

People say TPSs are better on consoles because no one designs them according to the PCs stregths.Max payne 1 and 2 are the only PC-centric TPSs I have ever played.3 weapon limit is also very lame.

Very,very disappointing:(

Hehe, I played Max Payne 2 with 1 pixel crosshair as well. I just don't like a big old crosshair getting in the way of my view when I use bullet time. :D Plus, it's a bit more challenging in a way.

It's also better for the mouse because it is MUCH more accurate. The reason Halo has giant crosshairs is because its meant to be played with a controller..

True!

I'm very worried about this cover system. It better not be like Mafia 2's (which wasn't THAT bad), nor should it copy Gears of War or Splinter Cell Conviction. The fact that it's going to be in a Max Payne game, spells trouble.

I feel exactly the same way and despite my skepticism I also will want to though wait see how everything turns out .
