Thought if anyones interested in the Max Payne games(like me wishing for another), then this is a tiny update on the movie.

Mark Wahlberg will take the role as Max Payne and Mila Kunis looks like will act opposite as Mona Sax.

First shot of Max Payne in link below, its rainy.

Max Payne

Mila Kunis

PG-13???

Release date? 2009?, IMDB.com have it Oct 2008.

PG-13???

Oh God... Mark Wahlberg should be great and I'll give Mila Kunis benefit of the doubt, but there's no way a proper Max Payne movie could get away with PG-13 IMO. Just make it like Sin City.

If it's PG-13, they are going to have a hard time making a Max Payne movie!

PG-13? Film industry still thinks that only kids play games.

Wow I'm pretty hyped...dont see how they could get away with PG-13 though...I guess they could get away with more because Pg-13's of today can be pretty gritty.

Give them some time. That's true that gamers tend to be younger, but not only kids. Hope soon some gamers will make some movies, that would make things much more real.

I hope that barrier pg-13 isn't sure yet. Then they might cut some fun factors out.

Let's remind what was in game. Lot's of guns and shooting (violence.), drugs and sex, language. If all these factors stay, then no way it can get away with pg-13 rating.

Mark Wahlberg, eh? Cool, he's a really good actor. That's actually pretty encouraging.

Wow, I'm suddenly feeling anticipant of a movie based on a game. Never would have thought that would happen.

Yeah like all games to movies I wasn't hoping much first but then Mark Wahlberg is in it and he is a good actor and can see him as Max Payne, so I'm a little hopeful and 'hyped' that on this one game to movie, they take time and it'll may be decent but the PG-13 - I'm hmmm:|.

The average gamer's age is ~23 years old, with a male tendendacy. If you consider that a kid then, what was Wolrd War 1 like? :P

Actually that was my point that, most gamers are around 20. (and it's first half). I meant to say that that movie industry has to understand that gamers are not only kids.

Also there was other point. How many good actors you can name that are under 30. Usually people over 30 have had less contact with games and don't understand that scene so well... Usually but not always. I know there are some crazy grandpa's 70+ who play games 5h+ a day : )

As I said to another topic in another forum:

I can't see Mila Kunis as Mona Sax, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. I can see Mark Wahlburg as Max Payne, but I can't see the movie succeeding if it is only PG-13.
This a story where a wife and infant are killed brutally in the opening scenes, where drugs are vital to the game's story, prostitution, seedy nightlife, the occult and just all around bad guys are numerous.
It needs a minimum of "R" in order to get that Max Payne feel.

I find the actress playing Mona Sax a bit too young. In the games (especially the second one), she is more sophisticated femme fatale. I would have cast someone more older.

Mark Wahlberg is ok I guess.

But no Max Payne movie can be good PG-13. Drugs, violence, brutality, blood = not something PG-13 movis have.

It's not often that Hollywood picks the absolute perfect actor to play a Game-to-Movie role. I can't say I can think of a better player than Mark Wahlberg to play Max Payne.

And I'll go ahead and agree that there's just no durned way in heck they can make Max Payne PG-13. That part has to be either incorrect or just plain stupid on the studio's part.

Mila Kunis is certainly a good lookin' gal, but I don't know about Mona Sax. We'll have to see, maybe she'll surprise us all.

I hope this movie turns out good, Mark, and his brother for that matter, are some of my favorite actors.
