i loved the original allied assault, but a series of mini-sequels that just kept on coming really dragged the moh name through the dirt, and games like call of duty and brothers in arms really rose far above it
but airborne, wow, what a game!
in the same way that a movie trailer can make the final product seem way better than it really is, sotoo doesgood demo convey a sense of quality the finished product may be lacking
i am reserving judgement until i've played the full game, it simply may not turn out to be all that great, but based on the demo, we are in for a treat

You guys obviously havent played many WW2 shooters, jumping out of the plane and choosing your objective to go to, is defintly a refreshing change.

1. I've jumped outta a plane before in a previous war game.
2. You have a choice outta 1 of 2 landing spots, hardly choosing which objective to go to.
3. It's still very scripted.

You can land anywhere you want. In the other games, you couldn't choose were you wanted to land. The demo level was only 2/3 the size of the one in the real game with many objectives taken out of it. If you don't like or are sick WWII shooters, you're obviously not going to like this. So why post stupid comments like that?

How come you didnt mention the game?
You dont have a choice you can land where you want, if you want a better landing there are better spots.
ALL games have to be scripted in some way.
There have been other games to let you jump out of airplanes.. like America's Army allows you to, and previous Medal of Honor games. This game however gives you complete freedom in where you land, which is very nice.
I'm so hyped for this game it's not funny.. I feel like I'm waiting for Christmas here counting the days and hours, which is funny I've never hyped a game this much in my life and Medal of Honor Airborne has me excited.. probably because I loved Allied Assasult so much it isn't funny :P
I completed the demo the day after it was released and I enjoyed it. Basically there's nothing new, only the start where you jump out and land, other all is same as previous MoH games. I belive that people think its same old crap cause they choose the easy difficulty wich basically triggers on god mode, your almost immortal then :D. Choose a harder difficulty and it's more fun, you gotta cover more and react faster. I liked it, the graphics are quite fancy wich gives a better effect to the game. My PC played it perfectly max video settings and 1152x864 resolution.
I'm am completely puzzled how some people here can call this more of the same. Someone please point me to another (singleplayer) WW2 shooter game that has the freedom this one does. And the freedom in this is actually real (as opposed to giving you two linear paths and having you choose one and then call it open-ended). Yes, there were only 2 friendly landing zones, but you could still land wherever you want (try that for an extra challenge instead of whining). But where you go from there is very open (especially for a shooter). So whatever you guys are smokin', keep it away from me. We finally get a shooter with some true replayability, and you guys are still whining.
Although I do have a concern that this freedom my hurt sales and reviews rather than help. People have become accustomed to MOHs theatrical style which was achieved in its very linear yet effective nature. I'm wondering how theatrical Airborne can be with all of its freedom.

Fine...it's a WW2 game+1 gimmick.

DarkRecruit
It's a feature not a gimmick. Big difference because it can change the way you typically play a MOH game. And it's not just the parashooting that is new. If you really played the demo, you might have noticed how you can go in any direction you want. You can even go across the rooftops (I suppose this is a gimmick too? Is everything new a gimmick to you?) Give us a break.

Yea I played the demo and as soon I started killing I was like "how many times have I done this?". It just feels like any other WW2 shooter.

Don't forget about the dumb AI!Ok, first off. The AI is only dumb because it's on the lowest setting. The AI is almost too smart after that, so be thankful. Second you can land anywhere. And it makes a huge difference. I've gone through and tried landing and some pretty crazy spots, and found the objective plays out differently depending on where I land. Yes, you have to take the same path, but how you get there is dramatically changed based on where you land. Hell, I even landed right on top of the mansion and fought my way in from the inside out to my allies (which is insanely hard by the way). And as far as the textures and looks go, don't even go there, Mohab is on par with any other game releasing on the UT3 engine. Mohab is actually the first game to release on this build of the engine, so I'm surprised they even got it working so well after completely switching engines mid production. The fact of the matter is, EA has stated they realize their reputation has been tarnished from the post Mohaa games. They have been closely listening to the community in order to make sure the series gets a fresh start.
All I can say is, don't expect Moh Airborne to be a whole new experience, because it's not. It's just EA's first step on getting the series back on track from where Mohaa left off. And from the looks of things thus far, they are doing a good job of it. The game plays and looks much like a sequel to Mohaa right now, and that alone makes this hardcore fan happy.
