I was wondering if anyone has heard of or knows of a medieval type "Battlefield" game out or coming out. When I say Battlefield I mean in the style of that. First Person shooter, online, two teams against one another for strategic points (hopefully something more than just point A-C lol) My friend mentioned to me the other day the idea (I had thought of it before but dismissed it as stupid) but if done right I'm sure it would be fun

There's no first person medieval games that are decent online, your best bet would be Mount and Blade: Warband or Pirates Vikings and Knights II if it has to be first person.

Mount and Blade: Warband has some immersive first person combat. That's your best bet.

Mount and Blade mate :P Single player is apparently good too I think it's going quite cheap (warband) on steam right now :), there's a demo for one of them too I think.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic has that. Its just not a very good game. I doubt theres anyone playing it online, though.

There was last time I played, which was probably like 6 months ago or longer. The online is quite fun until you realize that whoever levels up first wins.

What about the Age of Chivalry mod? Not sure if you fight over objectives, but it is definitely a first person game with swords in which two teams duke it out.

Everybody is overlooking the perfect game for you.

It's not a game, but rather it's a modification to Half Life 2. It's called Age of Chivalry.

Check it out. It's exactly what you're looking for.

Just buy Warband...it includes the original game basically (vastly improved too) with of course the online component. There is no reason to get the original unless there's maybe some mod out there you really want to play that's not compatible with Warband.

They have been selling the bundle and I feel bad for any new players who paid extra for both as for the vast majority of them basically just wasted money.

Youtube vids look really bad... the weapon swings don't connect visually at all yet still do damage...

Watching two players fight the animations are kinda funky but from first person when your playing it does connect properly. Either Age of Chivalry or Pirates Vikings Knights (or something like that). Both are mods for hl2.
