Merge or not merge?

I was just wondering .. i "deleted" some space on my E: , and made it to a disc (F: i think it was..) If i merge F: (EMPTY) with C: , What will happen? Will just C: get more space.. or will C: kind of get refreshed and everything on it get deleted?
