Hi Fellas

OK I've got the original Metal Gear Solid for the PC and after I install it, I start it up and it says" Metal Gear Solid has detected that your gaphics adapter does not support the functions needed to run the game, game now entering software rendering mode", I press OK and it jumps back to the Windows desktop, I try it again and it says"Game crashed during previous initialisation, entering software rendering mode" press OK and jumps back to the desktop again.

This can't be right at all, here's my specs

Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3

AMD Athlon 64 4000+

ASUS A8M SLI Deluxe Mobo

GeForce 8800GTS 512mb

On-board sound

40GB hard Drive

I understand alot of other folk have had this problem, but I wondered if anyone knows how to fix it, BTW using program compatibility doesn't work, niether does reinstalling the game.

Cheers

Did you download the game? If so thats your problem :D or it may be that its not compatible with the newest cards. OR it could be a driver issue.

i take it that you talk about Metal Gear Solid 1..

Actually it been known that there are some compatability issues with this game, so dont get distressed that is happening to you too.

A few Tricks that you could try are:

Try to start the game in a very low resolution like 320x240, if the attempt is successful exit and then try to play again in a more comfortable resolution. if that doesnt do the trick i guess your last option is to use microsoft's compatability kit that you can download from microsoft directly.

i hope that helps

have fun
