Metro 2033 EPIC FAIL!!! :@

I have just discovered that starting a new game removes ALL of your saved games.:|

WTF are we supposed to do if someone else wants to play the game?? My friend wanted to play and we just started a new game, it did say something about lost progress but I ignored it and now I have to start the game all over again.:(

This is seriously a joke and has ruined the fact that I only had good things to say about the game before.

Recover my files cant recover it either......:evil:

That + the whole save point is making me want to stop playing the game. When the hell will game developers get it through their thick heads, I TELL THE GAME WHEN I WANT TO STOP PLAYING, not the other way around!

This is specially bad in bad console ports. Gah!

Oh comon many a times games give you irrelavent save warnings, we were in a hurry as he wanted to see the graphics but had little time to.

Since there is no option to make profiles, I couldnt have possibly thought that it's actually impossible to have someone else play it. I thought at maximum I might have to play a chapter from the start not the whole damn game!!

While I agree that is a questionable design choice, blaming the game for lost saves when it clearly warns you isn't the smartest thing either. 1. Navigate to save folder 2. Copy save files 3. Paste on Desktop 4. Overwrite friend's saves when needed 5. ??? 6. Profit.General_X

People are being too defensive here, I know it's a fantastic game and all but what's wrong is wrong.

It is an incredibly stupid feature, but you still can't blame the game for your own.

It isn't the best idea in the world, but the blame lays entirely on you. The game warned you that it would erase your save game, and you ignored the warning. Nothing more, nothing less.

you could of just started over by playing from the first chapter. Once you beat the game, all chapters are unlocked and you can start over from the very beginning. But yea this sounds like user ignorance to me.

I feel your pain man...I was halfway through the game and a friend came over and was like OOOOH CAN I PLAY METRO 2033 so i said sure, but start a new game. the warning came up saying it would erase my saves but in my mind i was thinking 'no way it erases all your saved data everytime you start a new game' so i told him to go ahead and do it...mistake.

Yeah its pretty much your fault they warned you even if you rushed though it thats not the game designers faultSaintJimmmy

You Can Load any chapter and Level you want and you will find all your weapons ammo money You had but i dont really know if your friend will overright your progress when he complete the game or a chapter.

It was weird because you CAN load the first chapter from the level select menu, and your saves won't be lost, but if you start a new game (which is essentially the exact same thing), it erases all chapters so you can't play them anymore until you beat the game again. I think the warning message you get in either case is the same, so I can understand the confusion. I wanted to start over anyway, butI was still surprised I couldn't load other chapters if I wanted to show an amazing part to a friend or something.

What's actually worse is that the Ranger update corrupted my save file and I had to start over again. I was going to start over anyway, but imagine being halfway through the game. I just wish this game at least had quicksave. Autosave always leads to frustration eventually.

Very poor design decision. I guess they intended only one person to play through at a time?

What other PC FPS does this?
