Is anyone else getting this error with Metro 2033?

I installed the game with Steam overnight & every time i click the 'play' button, this error keeps coming up.

I've searched the internet, & it seems i'm not the only person with this problem.

My sepcs:

AMD Phenom(tm) 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
3316MB RAM 1 TB Total ATI Radeon HD 4850 Windows vista

I would uninstall it and reinstall. I had a weird problem with Bad Company 2 locking up for no apparent reason. Deleted the local content and re-downloaded it.

You are not the only person with this problem. I downloaded it the night before it was released. The next moring I tried to run it and had the same problem. I deleted the local content and reinstalled to no avail. I have the latest video drivers and a ATI 5850 video card. I am running Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium. All is completely updated. All other programs and games run fine. I am convinced it is a problem with their software.

There are 4 drivers to install along with the game, install all of them and you'll be fine.

As above posts have mentioned. You need to go to the install directory and physically install the Phyx drivers and reboot. This mainly happens when you have an ATI card. It's silly that ATI isers has to install this rubbish since it's only for Nvidia.
I tried to play this on my 4870x2 and I was getting only 10-15fps, totally unplayable. Now holding off for my RA 5970 to come back from supplier before playing again.
Even withmy older4870x2 my unit is pretty high end i7 950, this makes me think they didn't even test on ATI cards, and was paid by NVidia to create some code for ATI cards to make it run slower than a snail. Although yet to try it on the 5970, maybe that will handle it ok.
