metro 2033 problem

Can someone tell why am i seeing such broken glass on my screen ?

I know it is the damaged gas mask but I simply cannot take it off. I've been playing like this for past 4-5 levels. The game is already filled with so much darkness & this bug makes it even harder to see. Any solutions ?

Btw, this game has one of the worst enemy (human) A.I. I've seen in recent games. Sniper Ghost Warrior still holds no.1 spot for idiotic A.I. Anyone agree ? lol

Though it also got one of the best atmosphere I've seen in games. that's the only thing makes me wanna play it.

Since your not choking to death...just take your mask off and find a replacement. With a hole like that if you were in a dangerous area you would be dying already. And I agree..the only reason I finished the game was the setting and the graphics. Wish I had waited for a sale to buy it..it's a good game..but not great.

Holding down G ( gasmask key ) will remove gasmask...tapping the key will replace filter.

You need to hold it ("G" by default) down for a few seconds and it should work.

just hold down on the d-pad for like 3 seconds and you will take it off or you could find a new gas mask....

I'm sorry that you might need a new screen.
