Nice! I'm still playing through the first one, which I brought for the low LOW price of 9.99 on Steam. It really does push your hardware but I'm getting a decent framerate on all max settings on Dx11.

I also get decent framerates at Dx11 but I turn off advaced DOF and tesselation as they are only really noticeable in screenshots and standing still. They are not worth the FPS loss.

Metro 2033 was an underrated/underappricated game IMO. More people need to play it because its a fantastic game. (Not to mention it was robbed of best graphics from GS last year.)

Hopefully this one will have better performance in DX10/DX11.

It really is a fantastic game. It looks superb and has a great atmosphere. A very believable game world. But there were some optimising issues that made it lag big time. This time like you said hopefully they can tweak things to make it run smoother

Agreed. Just finished first Metro and it was the most immersive (Russians can do dystopia like no one else) and genuinely scary games I've played in a long time. Nothing like following your escort around, feeling semi-safe, and then being abruptly left to fend for yourself. Those were the "oh, sh*t" moments for me. What a gem of a game. So looking forward to next installment...as long as it doesn't become Call of Metro (like Crysis 2 did). :-(

I paused a lot in trailer to see what was happening and it seems like we'll be fighting some pretty interesting enemies.

The first one was great but man it was demanding, plus the Avanced DOF and tessellation did nothing but destroy framerates so I hope there's some decent DX11 implementantion.

I know so did I, the enemies look meaner than 2033. Which is a good thing. They needed more variety in the first game

Awesome, hoping that they make it just as good as the last one (or in the case for other people fix all the problems they had with it :( )

Great teaser. Although I'm a bit sad that it won't come out until next year, I'm glad they're not running with the masses and releasing games every year...

Hopefully, they will fix some of the optimization issues that others experienced. Although, the game ran great at the highest settings for me and I only have a mid level PC, it seems like it ran poorly with a lot of others...

Well, whatever they want to blow their money load on.

I wonder if there is actual statistical data showing primarily single player games with tacked on multiplayer selling more, or if it's just a case of "hey, that call of duty sells a lot, lets copy that some".

I'm willing to give 4A a chance at this. They haven't done MP before so it'll be interesting if they can come up with something that isn't a CoD clone.

One of the youtube comments said "it will have better graphics." What does mean? An even more demanding game than the first? I'm kinda scared. But I'm soooo looking forward to this. I really enjoyed Metro 2033. And usually any game that was created from books is a huge plus for me.

The first game was good, not perfect but good. One thing it did lack was replay value and no DLC content. The there was the whole straight storyline, meaning you couldnt visit other places or revisit old ones. And finlay the CQC system was so broken, when critters/mutants ran up to player to kill him, the aiming was so horrible that you were staring the flor most of time. Best example were libary guardians the fight there was the most hardest part of the game. On the bright side I heard they adressed the stealth and CQC problem so will see how it turns out. I do wonder if Reich got back their Tiger that we crashed in the last game, ahh what fun chase that was. :P From my part I wish they had a bit more customization for weapons and expand the arsenal a bit with weapons like AEK-971, Saiga, Groza, MG3 and AN-94.

I played the trailer again in slow motion and it looks a lot like the resistance games in a way. There are new enemies that look almost like giant bugs in a way with long arms, there are smaller enemies that look very much like dogs, there are spider nest enemies that come from eggs the exact same as the ones from the alien films. and there are rail shooting segments. The new weapon animations look great and very detailed. The game itself look sgreat, a lot more polish to it and looks to have great lighting again. There are segments of new stealth sections again.

The first game came across as a little bit of a STALKER rip off with a more streamlined single player which wasnt bad but wasnt great either. So I dont really have many high hopes for this :S

Awesome. Thanks for that. :) We need improved gunplay/ballistics and hit detection. Those were the problems in the first game. And the stealth portions were pretty bad. Combating humans was boring and I preferred fighting against monsters. Hopefully they could improve the human combat parts or take it out altogether.

Firts one was great though Im still in the process of finnishing it(watched through on youtube), my main issue with the game is that it linear and not to much variety, would of been nice if you could have customized your weapons.

I'd have to agree, it was far too linear and you never really had "choices". To be honest I wish they'd make it somewhat S.T.A.L.K.E.R.--ish and sandbox the game so we could immerse ourselves. I can't tell you how much I just wanted to walk through the old desolate "Dead City". I love the time limits they set with filters too which is why I feel combining filters + radiation + sandbox world would give the game a lot more. Also, jamming weapons would be a nice mechanic for it. After all you've been stuck underground how many years? The only "income" of fresh...err...not fresh but acceptable parts comes from the few people willing to explore the surface. Still, metro 2033 was absolutely breathtaking. Stunning, haunting, beautiful scenery. I also wish they'd have put a bit more thought into their "launch" trailer... or maybe they did. Either way, it annoys me I have to pause it every second to get a decent look at any of the gameplay. If they could make a stalker sized world with metro style beauty, I'd never stop playing...ever
