Anyone looking forward to this? It's free, you don't need a high end PC, works with keyboard/mouse or joystick or gamepad. I can't wait, I always like testing out flying games.

I'm a little iffy about it, but I'd like to give it a try before criticizing. Signed up for it. Thx for the heads up!flipin_jackass
No problem hope we both enjoy it.
I've logged thousands of hours into FSX and spent hundreds of dollars on addons and fly with a few virtual airlines and use VATSIM. I'm also working on getting my private pilot license in real life. Needless to say, I love aviation.
Flight was first touted off as a simulator, and I couldn't wait to hear more about it. Now that I've played it, I am so disappointed. The flying dynamics aren't all that realistic, there's no ATC, no cars or people or animals like in FSX, and it just feels like a bad arcade game. It seems like you'll only be able to fly around Hawaii in a select few prop planes, and to do more, you'll have to buy a ton of DLC. Don't expect much from it.
That being said, the graphics are pretty good and the game runs great. It also sounds pretty good. If they added in ATC, more aircraft, an SDK, and the rest of the earth, then it would be a fantastic simulator.

Are you sure that's not just a demo of Flight? After all, FSX had a similarly restricted demo. If that is the whole game, I too will be mighty disappointed.

Oh is it free? i was a big fan of fs2004, and paid like 70 bucks for fsx professional, which still runs laggy on my quad core..
Maybe i get back into the sim if it's well optimized
I guess Age of Empires online F2P-system must be real succesful for MS that they implement this in this game aswell.
Pros:
-It's free in the beginning
Cons:
-In the end you'll end up paying more than you would if it wasn't a F2P game
The positive thing is that it'll attract new people to the genre but I fear the fans might be the ones getting nickle & dimed.
I'll try it out even though I'm not a big fan of those games, unless this is like a 20GB+ download, than I won't bother.

Shame to hear man, that's what I feared. How big was the download by the way ?
The good thing though is that these F2P games can be updated all the time. AoE:Oline isn't the same game anymore as it was on release. But remaining realisitc, if it is broken in its core gameplay (i.e. being arcady instead of a simulator) than it most likely can't be fixed.
Well, if Flight falls below my expectations, there's still my FSX with REX 2.0 and other mods. There's X-Plane 10 too.
By "optimized" you mean that it runs well for you, eh? It doesn't work like that, unless you want it to end up an arcade game rather than a simulator.Oh is it free? i was a big fan of fs2004, and paid like 70 bucks for fsx professional, which still runs laggy on my quad core..

Eh i don't get ur point.. i just said that i could get back to it if the game is better optimized, performance wise. Don't know why u just jumped with the arcade thing, i got many pmdg payware aircrafts and i want the game as a simulator, didn't mean "optimized" for simplifying the game basis, well actually default aircrafts are kinda arcadish.[QUOTE="WiiRocks66"]

A little over 1gb. And according to the trailer, it isn't going to be any better in the final release.
Just got my invite last night. Flew around for a bit. Graphics seem good, but I think they have a lot disabled (DX11) since its just in beta testing. I won't judge yet. Flying is simple I think there must be a setting to increase realism more or it's just not in the beta.
