Ok let me get this right.. my GTX 295 will soon be behind the times as DX11 games come out. To play top end graphics I will have to upgrade.

What happened to DX10? I think I played less than 5 games using it!

My Vista 32 laptop and Vista 64 desktop have now both been upgraded to Windows 7. (I just bought Vista for my desktop a year ago and my laptop is about the same age.)

Why havent I heard complaining? Vista cost some of us HUGE!

Welcome to PC hardware. What does Vista and Win7 have to do with it though, Vista will get DX11 it is just the GTX295 that won't support it. Win7 is great, but there is little need to upgrade to it from Vista.

Look at valve, one of the greatest PC gaming companies who still use DX9. Just shows the lack of support for DX 10/11.

Because nobody told you to spend the money? First gen Xbox360 owners must be crying too, that's why you should do your homework or take caution. DX11 will also come to Vista, no one forced you to buy 7.

This is pure slander. Vista runs just fine like XP, in some cases even better. A power user will tweak their OS, so i can't speak for someone who uses stock Vista.

Vista supports DX11 and it's up to game developers to adopt DX10/11, not microsoft. Microsoft WANTS DX10/11 games to be made. What exactly did Microsoft do wrong?

Came out with Vista that was a POS. I have been through hardware cycles more than most on here, this one was brutal.

Came out with Vista that was a POS compared to Win7. I have been through hardware cycles more than most on here, this one was brutal. They should give upgrades to ALL Vista owners, IMO. Vista lasted how long?

As long as windows 95, 98, 98se, 2000... I upgraded to Vista a month after it was released. There was no real problem, as long as you had hardware with drivers. Had Vista not been released, Windows 7 would be facing the exact same problem right now.

Tweaked. wut? lol That could be taken two ways... I don't really see what having windows 7 has to do with what I said, but I have the windows 7 RC.

"Tweaked" as in Vista after "tweaking". Meaning it runs better, faster, simpler, smoother and has less restrictions and driver issues. Any other questions? Windows 7 would not have the same issues that Vista had. Vista was fine for us computer literate but NOT the same for the computer illiterate. This is coming from a person who helped his girlfriend and parents constantly with Vista problems.

A huge part of the vista backlash, was the crappy driver situation when it launched. If Vista had not launched, W7 would be facing the same thing now. Also, W7 is not faster than Vista in any significant way. It has a slightly smaller memory footprint, which would make it better on low end systems. But if you have sufficent memory, performance is a wash between the two, for the most part. (each will outperform another in certain cases)

Don't expect many DX11 games. Your GTX 295 will max those games anyways, you only miss a little pointless uninteresting eye candy. You still can play those games.
