Will there be mid-range (£100 - £150) AGP DX10 GPUs?

I should switch to PCI-e = buy a whole new PC?

My PC is out-of-date... a Sempron 2600+ with 1GB DDR400 PC3200.

You really need to change your whole rig - anything needing DX10 will be too much for a Sempron/1gb PC.

Put your money towards a major upgrade or new build.

There probably will be mid-range DX10 cards, probably from ATI - since they have already designed the bridge chip.

How do you feel about buying a pre-made PC, with intergrated graphics, knowing that the intergrated graphics will have to be replaced immediately with a much more powerful GPU card?

It's no problem to you?

To me, it's no problem...

Do you use OLDER gaming rigs for other uses?

That's internet, word processing, web design, music/mp3, photo manipulation and so on...

Can I feed ONE internet supply into TWO seperate computers?

Well it's not uncommom for people to still use older DOS based machines for older DOS based games, and it's not uncommon to use an older machine for basic purposes, but personally I'm the kind of person to want everything done on one machine.  Everyone is different, and do what you want or need.  In regards to using 2 computers with your internet, it's done normally by lots  of people.  Just depends on whether it's a hard wired connection or wireless one when it comes to ease of setting it up.

There is very little point to making AGP Dx10 because the games that will use DX10 (except for a few in the first year) will need a CPU that is faster than almost all AGP boards support.

It like why you will never find a car with FWD that has 400HP.  The fact that's its FWD means that any amount of power over around 240 would be useless.

Mine is hard-wired, with an external USB adaptor that connects to a USB port on my PC.

Do I need a "Y splitter" or can I use a USB hub somehow?

Cheers!

Yes it is.  Any FWD car with more than 240HP will just have wild understear in corners.  Unless you are talking about a boat like an Acura TL that weighs almost 4,000lbs!  In that case having more will just overcome its weight, and will help it accelerate in a straight line, and a car like that was never designed to corner on tracks anyway.

Why do you think BMW doesn't make any FWD cars?  It's because they only make true performance cars.  FWD only works well in small, light cars with around 220HP.  Like the Civic-R, etc.

Look at the FWD Alfa Romeo GTA with 250HP.  It's a joke and is constantly criticized for have more power than it can put down casing extreme torque steer and wild under steer in corners.  That's a perfect example of a FWD car that has so much power that it actually cases the car to be slower on a track then the same car with 210-220HP range.

WRC?  You are talking rally?  Do they even still race any FWD cars?  And thats very different in many ways, for one those cars are about as far from stock as anything can be!  And secondly does anyone ever care about the FWD WRC events if they still exist?

FWD = FRONT wheel drive!

The other terms are either AWD = All Wheel Drive or 4WD = 4 Wheel Drive.  All wheel drive or 4 wheel drive is NEVER referred to as FWD.

I guess you are not very into cars.  Of course AWD is the platform that can use the most power of all!  The complete other end of the spectrum from FWD!!!

I used to be into cars when I was younger but it's been a while since then.  When you made the understeer comment, I thought you were saying all wheel drive cars had massive understeer, when they have quite neutral properties from what I remember.  Yeah, especially in initial acceleration, front wheel drive is kinda useless when all the weight distribution goes towards the back..........

FWD understeer can be corrected easily on dirt road rallys by something called the E-Brake.  Dont under estimate FWD cars in the hands of a professional

Well then just say you made a mistake?  FWD means "Front Wheel Drive" in every country, auto manufacture, magazine, racing organization, article, and video game on the planet.  I have never heard of anyone ever confusing the term "FWD" for "four wheel drive" before in my life.

Whats next?  If I say the Civic Si has an LSD are you going to think I mean it comes with drugs?

My mindset is within using AWD for 4WD........like how Subaru uses it.  And I know what a Limited Slip Differential is thank you.

Now this is funny. A guy that didn't even know what the international designation of "FWD" meant is now is going to tell us what professional racers can and can't do! LMAO!!

Your credibility is totally shot! You obviously know absolutely NOTHING about cars so give it up!

Check who you're referring to with the quote train.  Great, this will go from one on one to a threesome, and in this case it's not more pleasurable..............

[QUOTE="zenzen"]I guess it's too late to say on-topic.:(j3ninja10

havent you heard of a router to split your internet connection? thats how you get 4 connections out of 1.

OK, I wasn't thinking...

I have heard of routers but I've never used one to know exactly how they connect to a PC...

So it's USB 2.0?

internet connection -> modem -> router -> 4+ internet connections

OK, now...

I can plug my EXTERNAL USB adaptor, that connects from my modem, into the router via USB 2.0?

I then connect the router to TWO or more computers via USB 2.0?

That it?

Cheers!

no, your usb adapter stays on the computer.  you use cat5e(ethernet cable) to got from wall to modem to router to usb adapter on computer, and repeat from router to usb adapter on other computer

I don't know who I'm talking to at this point and don't really care.  But the fact is there is a limitation the amount of power anyone is going to put in any FWD car.  That is an undisputable fact and the comparison works in talking about DX10 cards being made for AGP.

As for FWD rally cars and the drivers being able to manage the under steer that is only because those rally cars have around 220 to 240HP!!  Making my point again!  You can not drop 400HP in any FWD car and have it be usable for anything.  And I don't care if it's Colin McRay himself (even though he races AWD not FWD!!).  He would laugh at the noting that there is not a limit to the amount of usable power in an FWD car!

And that's the end of the subject!
