Minecraft Building help?

This may seem like a stupid question to most of you but could any help me ?

I just bought minecraft and i was wondering What do mods do ?

Also like is there something i can do so like i can just build large objects without like creepers coming and stuff? Just to have fun and make sick buidlings?

Do you have Steam? I'd love to tell you over steam. There's just soo much that could be said here...

Mods- Theres HD mods, weapon skins, armor mods, mods to make some items appear more, box mods, storage mods, ecnomy(Stores) mods, fps mods - http://www.modsforminecraft.com/

No creeps- Set the difficulty to peaceful

Like is there anything to do so like Night doesnt appear?

I just wanna build cool structures and stuff :D

Again, set the difficulty to peaceful, I'm not sure if there is an option to set it so it is never nightime. But if you just want to build things you should've just played Minecraft Classic, It's free on the Minecraft site and you have unlimited resources. Actually I think it's good that you bought it because I think you can only save Minecraft Classic builds if you payed for Minecraft.

Yeah i tried that but i wanted to go try out the real game and play online ..

Keep this open in a tab so you know how to build/craft everything: www.minecraftwiki.net And remember, if you play online, no "griefing", AKA stealing or destroying other's things.

Try this http://www.minecraftforum.net/, I am pretty sure there is a mod there that will turn off the night. Check in the released mods section.
