Hey all! After spending what seems like a whole week of my life playing Minecraft non-stop I am extremely curious as to what other people have been creating. So please come and post pictures of your creations for all to see!

If you do not know what Minecraft is it is an indy game currently underdevelopment that basically lets you do whatever you want in its little blocky world. For more information check outhttp://www.minecraft.net/. It's worth the five minutes to experience the awesomeness!

My skyrail and farm. I've added to it a bit since I took the screenshot, but I'm going to end up scrapping it and redoing it pretty soon because it's gotten somewhat unweildy.

Have you even played it? And the free version does not count.

Yes yes, I know I know....I have to play it... But those graphics just turn me off completely....I can't bare to even look at screenshots.... (no, I'm not a graphics whore), but I have a good computer to play the latest games, which soon will become old so I rather spend my time on my HUGE backlog...

Texture packs.

Most texture packs (most not all) only involve downloading a file and dragging it onto a different folder.

Its your mentality, man, but i feel as if you're missing out on 60% of the entire Godly-tier game-base..

Sometimes i don't get it. Chess doesn't hurt my eyes, and its 500 years old.. I consider games, games, weather i look at the monitor or play board games.

I have absolutely no problem playing Ultima 4, right now.. i guess i'm blessed with that. Never mind that i'm playing Doom 2 using various mods on a sourceport each day.

You say you're not a graphics whore, yet you say you can't play the game because it would "hurt your eyes". Yet your first post asks why this game is so popular, you seem to contradict yourself a tad..eh? You're immediately trying to understand why the game is popular by looking at screenshots.

No, I am trying to understand why it's so popular.... of course I need to play it to find out, not only look at screenshots.

I am not a graphics whore, but I guess I have limits....hahahaha.

I guess it comes down to by backlog. I only upgrade my PC every 2-3 years, and my computer is now about 2.5 years old....so it's starting to struggle on some newer games... and I am trying to use my time to play the titles which I really want to play.

I don't have time anymore for ALL games (so many come out), so unfourtantely I have to be picky....

Fair enough, I see what you mean now. I still think you should give the game a try then. Well heck, even I'll admit it. I was skeptical too. Glad I got over my skepticism and tried this game out. I too, have a backlog. :)

Yeah, I believe sooner or later it's worth a shot. I don't understand the status of this game.... I read it's not even beta??? Personally I don't think I will like it anyway (apart from the graphics), I have never been fond of "building" games....

What does that have ANYTHING to do with what we are talking about....? But since I am feeling good today, I'll let you know that I googled "commandos please unload the debbuger and try again" and lots of help pages came up.

Really? It's really easy on my eyes, so I like it :P

Anyway, I didn't think I'd like it either. But even if you just play the free version, seeing giant models in block form ain't anything short of astounding most of the time. I spent so much time on the free version by building and learning how to build all sorts of buildings and monuments before buying the alpha...

Strangely, I love looking up at the block-shaped clouds. The visuals really put me at peace.

I never thought I would enjoy the game myself but I picked it up with my fiancee to play on a co-workers server and we are hooked. I can't explain it but it's just fun digging, crafting, and building the contraptions you want to build. It is almost like a giant world of legos!

No...there are loads of servers. There is Singleplayer Survival mode and also Multiplayer Survival mode and in addition to that there is a Multiplayer Creative mode. The game is in alpha stage right now, price is around $13 or so...once the game goes into beta the price will double for people who haven't bought the game. So if you buy the game now you get it for halfprice and all content that is ever released from now on. If you want to see what the game is about, I suggest you start with the video below, like I did. Started watching him and then got hooked. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bh4EexJO4I

Alpha means it's not even guaranteed that the game will ever be finished. That's the most significant thing to note about an alpha release. Other than that, it just means it's in its early stages of development. Though TBH, it doesn't look like a game in its alpha stages :)

Jesus, just install John Smith's Texture Pack via the HD Texture pack patch and then the Ambient Occlusion mod and that'll cure your graphic whoreness to some extent.

The server I'm playing in feels like an MMO. Factions, cities and even NPC's with quests.

Most texture packs (most not all) only involve downloading a file and dragging it onto a different folder.

I'm actually using the first one in that list. It's pretty darn good honestly

I'm in the process of building a warehouse for a future open-face mineing operation to help me build a very large city. Anyways the warehouse will beable to hold 240 large chests and a total of over 800,000 items. Once I get it all set up, im going to see if I can't do a timelapse build on it.

I'm in the process of building a warehouse for a future open-face mineing operation to help me build a very large city. Anyways the warehouse will beable to hold 240 large chests and a total of over 800,000 items. Once I get it all set up, im going to see if I can't do a timelapse build on it.

Working on it right now. Had a bit of help from Minedit because the amount of resources required was far to high.

[QUOTE="FelipeInside"] They might, but for me they don't sorry.... I used to love them back in the hey day, but today they just hurt my eyes.....lolFelipeInside

How does it hurt your eyes? The graphics look fine. I'd rather look at Minecraft then any crappy PS3 or 360 game.

Nothing against MineCraft but PLEASE don't tell me you just said that MineCraft looks better than a PS3 game.....

Yea I just did, when I play PS3 and 360 games all I notice is low AF, and AA. They look horrendous. Minecraft on the other hand is fine. I can play games from 90s and early 2000s fine. What about you? Can you not handle playing classic games?

Here's some initial work on my warehouse and my open face mine. This world of mine is actaully quite large and very awesome, but I needed a way to get resources quicker without cheating (to much :P).
