Ok so I've upgraded my pc to:

Windows 7 32 bit

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 631Quad Core 2.6 GHz

Ram 4 GB (3.25 usable)

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti

and now I get an error saying minecraft has run out of memory

I've given minecraft 1GB memory to run on, I don't use texture packs, and I don't have any other programe open.
This happens with the normal minecraft and the Yogbox.

What can I do to fix this? when I open minecraft and press F3 the memory usage doesn't get over 25% so I have no clue how its running out of memory, any help appreciated

You could create a batch file that runs that game with more memory.

I guess you already did that :P

I have no idea what's wrong.

If you upgraded to Win 7 64 bit then you're pc would be able to utilize more of you're RAM. Just sayin'.

Have you tried using something like MCpatcher or Optifine ? both have facilities to improve minecrafts management of resources. I personally prefer MCpatcher but Optifine is a bit more feature rich.

The only problem anyone should have with Minecraft is the fact that they play it...

*Slow clap*

This guy everyone, this guy, let's all stop and think how much effort and time he must have put into this. Round of applause.

On another note, I have same amount of RAM and I didn't have an issue, I used to have 32bit on my PC though and if I remember I had issues with massive lagg on Minecraft

Well there has to be a first time for everything, both MCpatcher and Optifine are will known within the minecraft community. They are two programs that make a lot of MC users hold off updating their version of minecraft till the programs have been updated. If you want to find out more and the download links then you can find the info here :-

http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/232701-11-123update-35-mcpatcher-hd-fix-234-01/

Like I said I prefer MCpatcher myself because it is relatively easy to use and gets the job done, but Optifine has better features and might stand a better chance of fixing your problem. Either way give both of them a try (but not both together) and just make sure you back up your minecraft folder before you go messing with these programs.

And an equally slow clap for you for your lack of individual thought, lack of respect of the human capacity for choice and a general insult to the entire fabric of human culture. Now *that* deserves a round of applause...

Time for a new printer, webcam and a load of other stuff, then. Can't think of anything I have, that doesn't work with 64bit. On topic, have you checked your batch file is working? Is MC recognising the increased allocated RAM?

I just spent like 200 - 300 on my new pc can't afford to replace everything else :P and windows 7 32 bit was a lot cheaper :). and yeah it says the right amount of ram is allocated.
