A few weeks ago the news came through that the PC version of BioShock 2 was no longer going to get the Minvera's Den and Protector Trials DLC, which had previously been scheduled and planned for release on 360, PS3 and PC. At the same time, it was also announced that the planned patch had also been scrapped. Well, today 2K Games have reversed that decision.

The patch, Minerva's Den and the Protector Trials will all come to PC, and moreover, the Protector Trials will be made available for free. I for one am very glad that 2K listened to the response from the players who felt they had been left out of the loop, and changed their mind about cancelling. 2K have certainly a little way to go before they fully redeem themselves, but this is a major step nonetheless. :)

Whilst this is obviously good news for those that have Bioshock 2 it does highlight the fact that these days the software industry seems to be run by headless chickens that do not have a clue what they hell they are doing.

I think it is too little too late though, I know I certainly do not have the confidence to purchase any 2K titles on the PC. When I buy a game I want to feel confident that the company will support that product and at least ATTEMPT to fix any bugs or glitches. The previous announcement where they basically left PC gamers to rot shows that 2K cannot be relied upon to support their PC products. The fact they have now done a complete U turn doesn't change my feelings on the matter, we really shouldn't have to kick up a fuss to get companies to live up to their obligations.

Minerva's den is actually pretty damn good. Its less linear and it reminded me alot the way ss2 was. Pc gamers should certainly take a look at it. Honestly if they make bioshock like that dlc, i will become more and more interested to the series.
