Can anyone explain to me why the minimum requirements for Crysis are bumped up if you have Vista? I was almost in the clear until I read the "for Vista" parts. I thought Vista was to make everything easier and faster why should i have to have a better computer if i have what is supposed to be a superior OS compared to xp. Would an intel pentium 4 ht 3.00 Ghz with 1 GB of Ram, and an Ati Radeon 1950 pro pci-express be sufficient?? Im beggining to regret making the jump from xp to vista..

Because the Vista is more resource heavy than xp.

If someone complains about Vista being resource heavy, he should use Windows 95.

It's quite normal that a new game requires more hardware resources than a 6-year old one, no? The same applies to operating systems.

Even though I didn't like Vista for being ram heavy, I've got to tell you that I saw an increase in fps in most of my games. I went from Xp-64 bit to 32-bit vista and in the change over I lost roughly 250Mb of ram but gained 2-3 FPS. When I ran vista on 1Gb of ram it was o.k., and I experienced the small fps increase, but when I moved on to two gigs of ram it was immediately great. I also found that by disabling all of the security features it is much more user friendly, especially with user account control turned off. No more block or allow and punkbuster can connect! Can't beat that. Vista is not the big bad monster that XP was when it came out, Vista does not feel like a beta version....
